I’ve been looking for two years. The job market is absolutely brutal right now, especially if you look like you might be over 40 on paper. But it’s no picnic for the youngsters either right now.

I am praying for you. Been there. Done that, but on an average of every five years until a division was sold off or outsourced. Consider hanging out your own shingle. I got lucky and rode the end of the dotcom craze. Enough to retire young. Perhaps find an opportunity in the AI fad. You don’t have to be the best or the most innovative. Just enough to crank out some value to willing buyers.

Anyway, it’s good that you are looking now instead of waiting for the ax. That mindset will save you. God provides for the birds in the firks after all, and you are so much more than that.

And don’t double-space after periods between sentences. I’ve heard that that’s ones of the methods they use to identify older applicants. IDK if it’s true.

INTERESTING THAT age 40 is referenced.

I BECAME SELF EMPLOYED AT AGE 40. NEVER LOOKED BACK.

Last client retired in 2022. HE was 84. I was 82.

I just offered to do neighbor’s bookkeeping for purchase/rehab project he is considering.
