Interesting response by Rand. The question now is why hasn’t Trump sent the Rescission Bill?
And this is why Musk has announced he’s cutting back in campaign spending
I'm having problems processing this in my pea brain. I thought Congress controlled the purse strings. Can't the House of Representatives pass a budget bill with whatever cuts they want, then pass that along to the Senate? If the Senate also approves it, pass that to the President?
But this response by Rand says that the President has to be the one to begin the budget bill process. Unless I'm misunderstanding something.
Has Rand rolled up his sleeves and whipped enough votes in the Senate?
That is the question.
“The question now is why hasn’t Trump sent the Rescission Bill?”
For over a month rumors of a $9B rescission bill have circulated, comprised of $8B in foreign aid cuts and $1B in NPR cuts. But the bill never materialized supposedly because weak-kneed Republicans are threatening to vote no. ($9B is a rounding error, but a start) and yet GOP leadership seems under the spell of GOP big spenders.
@RandPaul
It is always a good idea to read the article.
