President Donald Trump lashed out at his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for continuing to attack Ukraine while talks are ongoing between the two countries to find an end to the conflict.
Speaking to reporters on the tarmac at Morristown, New Jersey before he boarded Air Force One and returned to Washington, D.C., Trump spoke about a range of topics as he fielded questions ranging from tariffs to manufacturing goals to Russia and Ukraine peace talks.
"I'm not happy with what Putin is doing," Trump said. "He's killing a lot of people, and I don't know what the hell happened to Putin. I've known him a long time. Always gotten along with him, but he's sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don't like it at all."
"We're in the middle of talking, and he's shooting rockets into Kiev and other cities. I don't like it at all," he said, adding, "I don't like what Putin is doing, not even a little bit. He's killing people. Something happened to this guy, and I don't like it."
When asked if he had any comment on news that Putin was almost caught in the middle of a drone attack from Ukraine, Trump suggested "maybe that would be a reason" for Putin's supposed change of character, but stressed "I don't know. I have not heard that."
Later, when asked a follow-up about talks with Putin, Trump said he would "absolutely" consider applying tariffs against Russia to force progress in peace talks, again saying, "He's killing a lot of people, I don't know what's wrong with him. What the hell happened to him, right? He's killing a lot of people, I'm not happy with that."

Putin has a set of goals he wishes to accomplish. He sees the best way is a fight to the finish with a final battle in Kiev.It will get worse before it gets better.

Putin is willing to continue the war for the next four years.
Trump has a decision to make.
Most likely, he'll maintain the status quo.
If he wants both sides to sign a ceasefire, then he'll have to give Ukraine better weapons. More planes, drones, etc. Trump may be reluctant to do that.

The war will stop—when One side wins. Best winner, in my way of thinking is Russia at this point. That would be better than WW III—a war we are not ready to fight and may not win. War is NOT about Morals and who is right—its about who has the bigger and better army and the will to keep fighting.

I think he is dead and someone else is running the country now. I don’t believe the propaganda about him being on the Helicopter either. I think he has been dead since right after the last time any credible witnesses have seen him alive. This is why he has been refusing to meet with anyone.

Classic Trump. Give his adversary a face saving out. If Putin had responded to Trump’s brokered peace deal then Trump would have led Russia’s return to the civilized world. He gave Kim the same deal, but Kim was too foolish to take it. Trump has just signaled that Putin has one last chance before Trump brings the hammer down. What will Putin do?
