DEI rollbacks hit campus support systems for students of color

WASHINGTON (AP) — Campus mentors. Move-in events. Scholarships. Diversity offices that made them feel welcome on predominantly white campuses.

As U.S. colleges pull back on diversity, equity and inclusion practices, students of color say they are starting to lose all of these things and more.

The full scope of campus DEI rollbacks is still emerging as colleges respond to the Trump administration’s orders against diversity practices. But students at some schools said early cuts are chipping away at the sense of community that helped open the door to higher education.

“It feels like we’re going back. I don’t know how else to describe it,” said Breeana-Iris Rosario, a junior at the University of Michigan, which is closing its DEI office and scrapping a campus-wide inclusion plan. “It’s like our voices aren’t being heard.”

In other words, racist students miss their racist programs run by racist departments at racist universities that make the racists feel welcome in a white world. OK.

” That is a recipe for failure in life and chronic resentment by minorities.”
Maybe we should respect and pay more to whoever has to do non-desk jobs instead of paying for them to attend college where they learn little of any practical value. Trump’s attack on Harvard is playing to his base, he easily wins the non-college educated voters, and loses college-educated women by 30 points.

“Diversity offices that made them feel welcome on predominantly white campuses. “
I would not be surprised if whites do not feel welcome on campuses that have support groups for everyone but them.

Correct.

Replace DEI with racist in the story for clarity.

Awwww, you mean like special treatment? Not being held accountable for anything? That sucks.

Why the very NERVE of that guy! Doing what he said he would do when campaigning and holding true to his promises, thus making his voters happy while making those who voted for Harris unhappy.

Help me, please...

How are DEI standards, hiring, and practice interfering with welcome teams at Universities, regardless of the skin color of the incoming students? Historically, there have been teams of upper classmen who welcomed the new students and aided with move-in. This FAR pre-dates DEI.

I’m sure the DEI “officers” and “advisors” are the ones who feel most welcome.

“...couldn’t the students form their own support groups..?”

Don’t you realize that certain groups are just too stupid and inept to do such common sense moves, and must live under the careful guidance of their DEI betters, who, for some unfathomable reason, seem to share the same ethnicity as those considered too helpless to survive?

How much do we have to cater to these clowns and make them feel “welcome”? Many are on free rides and scholarships and this isn’t enough it seems. Its one big fake DEI drama. White libs love this s__t!

They are highly privileged individuals who have power over Whitey. They get promoted without merit, they get jobs without merit, they have power bestowed on them so they can sue and get more money they don’t deserve.

They don’t need DEI.
