Had the races been reversed, had a white man punched a black woman, no one would hope the man "gets the help and services he clearly needs."
Nor would the cops be dragging their feet to arrest him. She'd be demanding "justice" for the hate crime.
Your tax dollars go to fund a government that hates you and your kind.
A half hour to respond to a misdemeanor assault plus an actual arrest? Sounds like the NYPD worked far above their usual speed and effectiveness in response. This "influencer" must have some real influence.

Problem is back in the day in s**tholes like New York state they were terribly run.
Given the CORRUPTION of gubmint and its disposition to evil, re-establishing mental institutions in deep blue like New York scares me to death.
They would be used as gulags.

I’m sure where I live there are lots of folk with mental problems but hopefully they have found a place of safety for themselves as well as the community.

And therein lies the problem. Why didn’t she offer to take him to her house so she can give him the help and services he needs.
I’m sure her ideas of the services he needs is not even close to the services this guy wants (sex, drugs, and money)
Why did she waste a call to the cops just so this guy can be back on the streets within a few hours.

If this were reversed it would be an explosive national story with much follow-up media analysis of what it represents and the long term causes and how it all ties into the GOP and this administration and “growing” this and that, and on and on, it would have deep meaning representing history and trends and layers and layers of what led to it and what it means for the future and what we need to do to resist and end such terrible acts that growing more “open” more “frequent” etc. and the effect it is having on those at the receiving end of such intimidation tactics and violence, and so on.

I agree. What a feeble diversion from meaningful activity. Only by being enabled by the mentally disabled could this activity not be regarded as a mental disorder. Ivy league universities probably have a major for that where students leave about a quarter million in debt.
