Yeah, but were they black like the Swedes? /s
Bonnie Prince Charlie- the king over the water.
Bonnie? WTH?!? What was he, some kind of cross-dresser?!? ;^)
I recall reading that, after The '45 (1745 uprising, pron. "Farty Five"), the British crown banned the playing of the pipes, and the wearing of the kilt and bearing of the claymore for 35 years.
Tartans were being made and worn in central Asia a long, long time ago.
But are they human or Scots?
That’s the problem...
“suggesting that humans thrived at what was once considered the bleak and uninhabitable margin of the world during the final throes of the last Ice Age.”
Hunh...adaptability and survival skills. Imagine that.
[singing] the ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle...
Aw, shut ya gob! ;^)
Scots? Ah, the Bleaker People.
It means he was handsome….attractive looking
:^)
My ancestors came from the south end of the Isle of Skye, you know, the Scottish Hawaii. MacDonald of Sleat. Now it turns out there’s an excuse for a chip on our shoulder. It’s a stone chip from making tools. Per Mer Per Terra. We came over to Georgia ( basically sold into indenture by a British Judge) and were part of Oglethorpe’s Regiment of Foot. The 42nd Regiment of Foot. which became The 42nd Highland Regiment, Later Known as the Black Watch. So my ancestors had stones. Happy 250th to the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. The answer is Scots trying hard to be human. Just understand they all will learn that red headed Scottish women are not to be trifled with. Note, my granddaughters have red hair.
I am redhead myself and come from a family of redheads.
As I have said before, “You know why redhead men don’t date redhead women...We know better”
All of us got redhead moms or sisters. We grown up knowing what to avoid...
Looks like my ancestors in Aberdeen rocked it in the snow and ice. Kudos!
Other than the fact that these prehistoric settlers weren’t Scots, yeah. :^) My Scots ancestors came from one of those islands, but the whole kit and kaboodle of came over from Ireland sometime in the 6th century.
