This is part of a much bigger unwinding of the monoculture, pesticide-driven, ag that we have created in this country.
Lots of potential and lots to do—with cutting out ethanol a big part of it.

The president might do away withe the high-priced catalytic converters also. Cut down on thefts. As well there are vehicles that need one, but it costs more than the car’s & adds nothing toit’s value or performance.

Phasing out ethanol requirements in fuel was promoted by Ted Cruz in 2016.

Now, even the greenies agree that ethanol in fuel is a huge waste of resources, which does not help the Earth at all.
It is actually detrimental to environment.
But, like any government program, it has a life on its own.
Burning 40% of our grain in cars does not help anybody, but the farmers lobby.
And they have huge influence, especially in Republican politics.
So I do not think, anything could happen in this area.

And note that Cruz defeated Trump in the 2016 Iowa caucuses.

Not many options at all. Only 3 in my city and I live in a very large city.

Same for me.
I have a handful of 5 gallon jugs I throw in the truck and drive an hour to fill them. Between the motorcycle and lawnmower and whatnot, I'll get about 3 weeks out of 30 gallons.
I could get it at the municipal airport 5 minutes away from my house, but they charge almost $6.50/gal. It's cheaper for me to drive the hour away.
My truck is new enough that it eats the e10 just fine, but my bike and small engines run way better on the pure stuff.

Ethanol? In the gas?
It’s a great idea! Let’s keep burning the food!

Surely it’s not a requirement? Pure gas is available...albeit for a price...

Thank you for posting that.

Ethanol free gas is available in Idaho and Utah. My 2015 truck has run most of its 127,000 miles with ethanol free. All of my motorcycles run ethanol free as well. Ethanol free fuel avoids the hygroscopic property of ethanol that leads to iced fuel lines in subzero Winter weather. It also protects small engines from higher burn temperatures and damage to rubber seals.
The Maverick stations have 87 Ethanol free. I have to track down 91 Ethanol free at Sinclair stations where they have 3 grades of ethanol free.

Any car that can run on ethanol (not counting some race track cars) can run on ethanol-free.

Not going to happen, it would bankrupt too many farms. Political suicide.

Please pressure Congress or whatever it takes to remove the ethanol-in-the-gas requirement for vehicles. He thinks he would lose Iowa and probably would. Of course he is not bone headed someone finally got him to drop the Vaxine promotion.
