The company said Monday it has become clear through the rezoning process that there are better uses for its capital. Wynn had partnered with Related Companies to develop an integrated casino resort in the posh Hudson Yards neighborhood of Manhattan, where high-end shops and restaurants already draw crowds.

Wynn Resorts has surrendered to the inevitability of "years of persistent opposition," according to a company news release.

It is the second casino giant this spring to throw in the towel on a New York gaming license.

Wynn says "any casino operator" will face stiff opposition for years to come. The company said it will instead spend its capital on stock buybacks and existing and upcoming developments. It is building the first casino resort in the Middle East in the United Arab Emirates.

I could have saved them the money - stay out of New York if you are a business or a taxpayer.

A failed bid to open a casino in New York failed.
Why? B/c Mr. Wynn is aka “Friend of Donald Trump?”
Sigh! We should be all past that by now, but in New York, so many seem to have TDS at critical levels. Some New Yorkers have been hot-mad at Trump since the 1980’s for one thing or another.

Not anymore - the communists got Steve Wynn axed from his own company like Papa John.

Communists hate money and thus abhor gambling.

“Wynn had partnered with Related Companies to develop an integrated casino resort in the posh Hudson Yards neighborhood of Manhattan”

Kind of dumb to partner with related companies, otherwise known as COMPETITORS, and expect something good to come of it. If you are going to partner with other companies, it should be ones that COMPLEMENT your product.

I hate the distuctive nature of gambling so I’m not losing any sleep about one less casino in New York. There are already plenty of them.
