Usha Vance has been seen wearing an elegant black ensemble paired with a traditional veil as she attended Pope Leo XIV's inauguration mass.
The second lady - who is Hindu - stood dotingly beside her Catholic convert husband, Vice President JD Vance, as they returned to the Vatican on Sunday.
Usha, 39, supported her husband and the new American pontiff by clasping her hands in prayer during the service despite not sharing the same faith.
She also showed respect through her black mantilla, a traditional Spanish veil symbolizing reverence, modesty and piety.
Pope Leo, 69, warmly took hold of Vance's hand as he received a series of world leaders at St Peter's Square.

If the stories elsewhere are true that the new Pope is another social justice type then I have had it. As if anyone cares. Just my opinion.
The last one gladhanded the abortion enablers Pelosi and Biden and refused to deny them communion as an edict to the American priests and bishops.
Very decent lady - she doesn’t make a show of the fact that she follows another faith, and shows respect to the leader of her husband’s faith. Classy behavior.
A cross faith marriage is an indication of great love between the two. I much look forward to a President Vance and his most skilled and lovely lady as First Lady of The United States.
“....new Pope is another social justice type then I have had it.”
I had it decades ago when I went (was sent) to Catholic Marquette University, My mother insisted I go there, not my idea.
As a freshman, I had to take a “Social Justice” class. We were lectured hour after hour day after day about how evil rich people were. Totally detested that priest. Who the h@ll did they think was paying our tuition? And buying them groceries?

Ditto!
Decades ago?
Sweet girl
Yep. Social Justice is apparently an ongoing theme. One of the reasons I don’t go Catholic church any more.
My Dad went to Holy Cross, and my mother (Catholic) would often say, with her dark Armenian-Italian eyes flashing with anger: “Those damn Jesuits!”
Love your mom. Mine was of Irish descent and the church could do no wrong. My dad wasn’t Catholic. I was my father’s daughter. Still miss him every day of my life.
You trust The Daily Beast reporting? I do not as they have a long history of journalism disintegrity and lack of good investigative journalism skills.
Vance was warmly greeted!
It was the Daily Mail, famous for clickbait headlines that rarely match the story’s content.
Why did you put give us link to the Daily Beast? They lied about a so called snub. Do you believe the leftist press? Do you think for yourself?
Can you even begin to imagine the trash First and Second family children’s behavior at the Vatican if Harris/Walz had managed to steal the election?
I had it decades ago when I went (was sent) to Catholic Marquette University, My mother insisted I go there, not my idea.
++++++++++
How long has this foolishness been going on at Marquette? My daughter attended from 2009-2012 and without providing specifics I can tell you that the social justice warrior mentality was prevalent at Marquette at that time. I figured it had to do with the newly installed Kenyan Potus.

...yet.
The Truth:
Vance MET with the Pope privately BEFORE the mass. They had a great meeting discussing things, according to both sides. That he “only” shook his hand while greeting everyone is true but very, very false given the writer’s biased report leaving out pertinent facts.
While Usha’s immediate family is Hindu, it is my understanding that one of her uncles helped guide JD’s journey towards becoming Catholic.
