Trump appointed three conservative Supreme Court judges during his last presidential term, pushing the Supreme Court balance to a 6-3 conservative majority.
That led to the overturn of Roe v. Wade and other conservative advances.
If reelected on November 5, he may be able to replace the two oldest conservatives with younger nominees, guaranteeing the conservative majority for many years, legal analysts believe.

Cruz, my sentor, is a dino barely holding his seat. I don’t think he would be a font justice.
It’s more like 2 conservatives, 4 squishes, and 3 left wing idiots. I’m being kind calling Barret and Roberts squishes.
I think it likely the Republicans gain seats in the Senate. I also think several squishy RINOs are going to be replaced by MAGA Senators.
That said, it makes sense for Thomas and Alito to retire during Trump’s term. I was sweating bullets one would pass while Biden was in office. Now the Democrats have to sweat and hope the Wide Latina doesn’t choke on a ham sandwich while Trump is in office.
More like 2 half-conservative Justices out of 3. I don’t even count ACB as a half-conservative.
She’s not as bad as Souter. She is good on religious rights and gun rights. She’s hugely disappointing as a whole but in comparison to RBG, she’s definitely an improvement.
Roberts and Barret are extremely squishy. They’re the real problem IMO.
Kavanaugh is good far more often than not and Gorsuch has a bit of a libertarian streak, but is very good 95% of the time or more.
We already got another Souter.
Meanwhile, what misguided idiocy is this?
Thomas and Alito need to stay.
Barrett voted to overturn Roe and Casey.
I just hope that Trump is better prepared and has already throughly vetted possible candidates.
The next appointments could be decisive in determining the country’s future.
**Now the Democrats have to sweat and hope the wise Latina doesn’t choke on a ham sandwich while Trump is in office.**
She’s 70. Diabetes?
As for Cameron. Mitch is his mentor and he could be persuasive to the wobbly ones who may wish to give him a gift on his way out. Btw-if he croaks Gov. Bernard has promised to appoint a rat to replace him even though the procedures now say otherwise.
It’s settled do it this year! At least Thomas.
2020. Trump put out a list of 20 possible nominees for his next SCOTUS opportunity. Cameron was one of them-35 years of age at the time. Imaging having the same hearings where both he and Cruz sit together in front of the judiciary committee. 60. hours worth. Heh heh.
This court is only conservative in the eyes of the hard left.
Just don’t appoint no more women would be a good start.
“The ABA (American Bar Association) has a front row seat at making recommendations for judicial picks ...”
That might be true, but I always thought Leonard Leo was kingmaker.
“ Do you really think he wouldn’t be more valuable as a SCOTUS judge than a Senator?”
Much more valuable on SCOTUS. Not even close.
“Do you really think Texas couldn’t elect a suitable replacement?”
Not at all sure about that.
Not familiar with Cameron. If Clarence Thomas retires, his replacement would have to be a black person, so it is a question of who is the best black conservative jurist available.
Greg Nunziata stabbed Trump in the back while helping Trump select judges. He was the chief legal counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee. He worked for both Thune and Rubio.
He now works for an Anti-Trump NGO headed by George Conway and funded by Soros.
Not at all sure about that.
Paxton will be a squeaker but the MAGA base will turn out for him. Are you suggesting there's no one of similar talent available to run? If Trump's economic results turn out as favorably as it might seem, I'm betting a Republican win.
I think the Senate would turn on Cruz just like they did John Towers years ago. Towers served many years in the Senate thought he had friends and then when he is nominated for Secretary of Defense in 1989 he was rejected.
