This is how parents dress to attend a performance by their children in a school? Unbelievable.

I graduated from high school in SW Oklahoma in 1969. We had dress codes, no jeans, no t-shirts.

The High school had a choir because the students got graduation credit for participation. I think a Glee Club may be an extracurricular activity in some schools vs a credit course.

LOL I graduated so long ago - 1954 upstate NY, I can’t remember if we got credit for Glee Club. I remember we did for band...1/2 credit for each year as I recall..

I don’t think any parent dressed in shorts and flip flops to attend any function at school like we saw in that video. I don’t believe anyone had to set a dress code. It’s just the way things were done in the ‘50’s before the rebellion of the ‘60’s..

Even later when we became house wives, we changed out of our working dress clothes when we came home from work into every day clothes (dresses) for home BUT never for going out to the store or anywhere outside the home; no jeans. I guess we were the “uptight” ones, right? I still wear clothes at home I wouldn’t wear outside my home and NEITHER should those women in that video - LOL....

I know we didn’t wear anything but dresses or skirts/blouses to work until probably pant suits became fashionable.
