I'm all for Shoeless Joe Jackson being allowed to enter MLB Hall of Fame, but not Pete Rose.

Gambling is an addiction. So, we should let those who had substance abuse issues, like alcoholism, into the HOF, but not someone with a gambling addiction, which he beat? Rose was a compulsive competitor. When he ceased being able to play, he managed, and he bet on his team to win. That's compulsive behavior. It was fine to say he couldn't control his addiction and that he shouldn't be allowed to manage a team because of what might happen. That doesn't take away what he accomplished on the field.

BTW, Ty Cobb was a real jerk according to those who played with him, but he is in the HOF.

I agree with you, baseball is a sport where the players with the most base hits in history, the most home runs in history and 7 Cy Young Awards are not in the Hall of Fame, it’s hard to call the Hall of Fame legitimate when those 3 players are not in
