Charles Barkley went on a rant the other day on Inside the NBA about the wive’s tale of counting sheep as a way of curing insomnia.
He said black people don’t count sheep.
Some might consider that a racist profile of black math skills.
But the Chuckster was right, there are cultural differences between Caucasians and black Africans.
What I find humorous is as I watch television and commercials (which are populated by many times the 13 per cent of the population), I see black folk doing stuff and living the trad life of Ward and June Cleaver.
When I see Dr Rick on a Progressive Commercial or Jan on a Toyota commercial, I welcome it as a relief from black fatigue.
Every time I see a black-heavy TV commercial and there’s a phone number on the screen, I call it. I say I’ll consider the product if I see some blue eyes in their ads.
Well, I’m white and I never counted sheep either. Seemed like a pretty stupid idea.
