I checked. Actually, it’s not standard. There are recommendations, but it appears to be state-by-state.
The genetic counseling doesn’t get triggered unless there is an abnormal test in the first trimester. So the million dollar question is: Was there an abnormal reading that should have triggered a deeper study?
the fact they got this settlement says that doc was negligent or very stupid and lazy.
Technically all those caveats about “state by state” rules etc.....all those are for a dr that worries about being negligent etc ..those recommendations might as well
be law!
This guy must have really screwed up to end up losing this case.
