Meh, BFD. I can put 20 gallons of gas in my RAM 1500 in less than 2 minutes and drive for 350 miles. Let me know when an EV pickup can do that and I might take a look.

I have to drive through another guy’s 55 acres (on a deeded R.O.W.) just to get to mine, and I have a locked gate where my “back 40” starts. Very few people even know the property exists and the foliage is thick all the way in. It’s the bugout spot and I can see and hear people coming well before they can see me. I have sign just inside my gate: “If you can read this, you are in range.”

They could come up with the most perfect battery in the world. And that won’t change the fact that we are not even close to having the ability to support charging them on a mass scale.

We need to start peppering the US with the new generation nuclear power plants because between this EV junk and AI the need for electricity is going to be impossible to provide otherwise.

Even if you solve that problem, there are others to consider with an EV. That new Chinese system I just read about sounds like quite an advance, but possibly comes with several advances in danger also...like operating on 1,000 volts.
