I used to build PCs from components in the late 80s and early 90s from the Jameco catalog. I still recall buying a 40MB harddrive for $465.50 which was about a half months grad school teaching assistantship stipend.

Yep. Had a few years worth of issues, then I had to downsize for a move. I went through all the issues, ripping out the useful articles I wanted to keep, and ended up with a stack smaller that one of the issues.
