3K for my 1st PC - 286 processor. Had to pay another couple of hundred for the 287 co-processor.
8088 here. Original IBM PC, and only got that good of a price due to a student discount plan and aftermarket components (drives, RAM, multifunction board).
Financed it like a car with my credit union, IIRC 36 months. Might have been 30. Was a good decision.
