Good list, the worst british band has to be Herman's Hermits, and it is personal, some 25 years ago they stayed and performed at a hotel where I worked at and Peter Noone was a total a-hole.

Peter? Really? His daughter went to Belmont Univ. in Nashville. He always stayed at my hotel. We always had nice conversations.
One of my favorite bands. Their songs stuck in my head as a kid.
But The Beatles below the Stones? No way.
Def is British?

that surprised me as well.. in no way should they be anywhere near the same category as LZ... they were more bubble gum rock...
Oasis also has some good music.

That would make an awesome new band name.
Not saying they’re the greatest, but my favorite British band is XTC. In fact, I hope one day to make a pilgrammage to Swindon, much like Beatles fans go to Liverpool.
QUEEN IT IS! With Freddie Mercury the best male rock star singer, Mick Jagger is close. Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane best female rock star ever. Janis Joplin as the greatest “Blues Rock” ever.
All three are GOAT. Jagger is almost GOAT.
To leave Clapton et al off that list is simply lame.
Cream, Deep Purple, Yes, King Crimson, Queen, Genesis, Moody Blues. I could list at least a dozen more that were better than the Beatles or the Stones.
But if it wasn’t for The Beatles, you wouldn’t have all those other bands. The Beatles were the inspiration.
Wow, Def Leppard higher than the Kinks? And in terms of impact, influence and popularity the Beatles are untouchable.
