It's DOA.

The side winning isn't going to agree to a temporary ceasefire to give the enemy a chance to rearm and round up more unwilling conscripts.

Ukraine, the side losing, must be forced into unconditional peace talks.

We have every incentive to do that given that we're not getting anything out of minerals deal until the war ends.

Tell Putin to get with the program and accept President Trump’s 30 day ceasefire.

Correct. It’s just political posturing. They come up with a “peace deal” they know the Ukrainians will accept and the Russians cannot. Then they can say “See? We tried to make peace, but those Russians are meanies.” Then it’s sanctions package #597 and more arms and aid packages to Ukraine. And so it goes on and on.

Ref the minerals deal, the alleged minerals are either unproven or deemed commercially unviable. Maybe something will someday come of the oil, gas and aluminum, but it won’t be any.time soon. Sorry it’s AI, but it does quick and easy bullet points:

The U.S. and Ukraine have a minerals deal where revenues from new projects in critical minerals, oil, and gas will be channeled into a joint investment fund for Ukraine’s reconstruction. This fund will be used for infrastructure projects, and no profits will be taken from the fund for the first 10 years.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

Joint Investment Fund:
The agreement establishes a joint investment fund managed by the U.S. and Ukraine.

Funded by New Projects:
The fund will be financed by revenues from new projects related to critical minerals, oil, and gas, not from existing projects.

10-Year Period:
No profits from the fund will be taken out for the first 10 years, and the money will be reinvested in infrastructure projects.

Future Aid:
Future U.S. military aid to Ukraine will be considered a contribution to the fund, meaning Ukraine will need to match that aid with resource wealth.

Strategic Significance:
The deal is seen as a way for Ukraine to secure continued U.S. support, especially regarding future military aid.
