A full rehearsal for the Moscow Victory Day Parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (May 9, 1945 – 2025) took place at Red Square on May 7.

The Việt Nam People’s Army (VPA) contingent was also among the several foreign armed forces invited by the Russian Government to take part in this famous parade.

This is a major event honouring the historic victory of the then Soviet Union, affirming the indomitable will and solidarity of the Soviet people and progressive forces worldwide in the fight against fascism.

The organising committee commended the VPA contingent as one of the most outstanding formations. With neat formation, resolute and synchronised steps to stirring music, the VPA’s parade unit showcased strength, composure, and unwavering discipline – the very qualities that have shaped the Army’s 80-year legacy of building, fighting, and development.

The Soviet Union benefitted from its deal with Hitler, and then changed sides to get the millions in U.S. aid needed to win the war because the Soviets system could never produce that on its own. It was then permitted to subjugate the countries it occupied in Central Europe. We are still seeing the results in Ukraine and Belarus.

Interesting.

Ho Chi Minh had left French Indochina as a young man and seems to have been knocking about the world in the way that has become somewhat rare nowadays but which used to be much more common back when life was simpler. He worked a variety of odd jobs to support himself, but it was honest work. He was committed to Vietnamese independence from France and, more broadly, to anti-colonialism, but his politics may have been rather fluid at that point. It’s interesting to speculate what might have happened had he fallen into better company, just as one can speculate about what might have happened if a wealthy German Jewish patron had admired Hitler’s watercolors, commiserated with him about the baleful impact of modern art, and helped make him a success as a painter.

But alas, Ho Chi Minh returned to France, got involved with the communists after the Russian Revolution, and became a founding member of the French Communist Party and a Comintern agent. As a Comintern agent, he was assigned to East Asian work, and he became a founder of the Vietnamese Communist Party, which was formed in Hong Kong by the Comintern. The rest we all know.

Putin is a recycled KGB man. I’m sure he has a special place in his heart for the Vietnamese regime. Whether he ever worked with Ho Chi Minh directly, I don’t know. And of course the Vietnamese regime is happy to make pilgrimages to Moscow.

What’s the difference between Bernie Sanders and Ho Chi Minh?

Uncle Ho actually had jobs before he became a political figure

Meanwhile the North Vietnamese are preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of conquering their neighbor, South Vietnam. America’s great shame will be on parade.

Ho did some pretty shitty jobs in Paris including as kitchen cleaner.
You won't find Sanders dead doing any of that,
Sanders loved being a free loader too much.
On another note, the Vietnam war was one of the most stupid wars America ever fought.
Ho was initially very friendly to America, and thought America's war of independence was great. He even cooperated with OSS (predecessor to CIA) during WW II.

China is the world's mightiest industrial power, having America in manufacturing in 2010.
Nothing “shit-hole” about that.

The impressions Vietnam is trying to make is actually targeted at one of the nations participating in the parade. China.

"America’s The Democrats' great shame will be on parade."

The Democrats controlled the Congress in '73, mandated the withdrawal of US forces as well as stopped all resupply support for the South Vietnamese prior to the North Vietnamese 1975 offensive. They were collaborators with the KGB/North Vietnamese.

They tried it again in Iraq with their 2007 D Congress mandating the 2009 withdrawal of US forces. However lacking substantial foreign aid AIQ/ISIS could not topple the government of Iraq. But they tried and came close in '14 and '15.

Democrats are evil. They are traitors to freedom and liberty.

1.00 USD — US Dollar = 25,954.96 VND — Vietnamese Dong

About $1.25 per meal out over there.

Oh, and they have no vote, or rights other than what the govt says they have at any given time. -Just like the democrats

And China dominates their economy thru bribery and loans.
