I only ask because she's referred to as an "actor" and not an "actress".
While I totally understand your viewpoint, I have seen females referred to as "actors" in the past. I'm not sure of when to use which term.
It's about 30 years since the Screen Actors Guild insisted that all male and female performers be called actors. That the term "actress" was sexist.
SAG established their award in 1995. The trophy is called The Actor.
Many awards no longer use the terms Best Actor or Best Actress. Instead they say Best Male Actor and Best Female Actor.
The Oscars still say Best Actress, but that might be tradition and because the viewing public expects it. But it might only be a matter of time before they switch to Best Female Actor.
Some of the more progressive awards simply have a Best Performer award, entirely non gender specific. I think MTV does it that way.
Don’t you know actress is sexist, the media and industry has been referring to both males and females as just actors for a long time, personally I find it bizarre.
