Mass drone attack on Moscow: Airports shut as Russia claims to have shot down more than 100 Ukrainian drones

Moscow closed all four of its main airports for several hours into Tuesday after state media reported the military had shot down 105 Ukrainian drones overnight.

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, said that at least 19 drones were destroyed on their way to the capital as it prepares for Victory Day celebrations this week.

Debris fell on a major avenue in the city's south without causing injuries, Sobyanin wrote on Telegram.

Governors in other Russian cities, including Penza and Voronezh, said they had also been targeted by Ukrainian drones.

It was the second night in a row that Russia has reported a Ukrainian drone attack, after the defence ministry claimed it had destroyed 26 overnight on Monday.

“Cut off US aid to Ukraine and Kiev falls, ending the war.”

Not true. Putin would then continue his war until his tanks rolled all the way across all of Ukraine. That would not be an “end” to war. It would be one-sided expansion of it.

Your opinion seems optimistic. I’m genuinely curious how many Oreshnik missiles Russia is able to produce these days? Are they able to replace their more modern tanks that have been destroyed? Does the lower price of oil affect their ability to buy drones from Iran and old mothballed artillery shells from the Norks? I believe they have stockpiled lots of obsolete equipment but how much is readily usable? I f the West ever decided to crash manufacture and flood the Ukes with drones and artillery to use against Russia, The Russians might indeed have a big problem.

Fine with me.

Ukraine has been defined as the most corrupt state in the world.

Including being the piggy bank for US politicians for years with their USAID monies.

“Fine with me.”

1. Ukraine is nowhere near as corrupt as Russia.

2. Corruption has zero, zip, zilch to do with Russia’s invasion.

3. We’ll see just who are the beneficiaries in Ukraine with Trumps mineral-rights deal.

“The reason Russia’s GDP is increasing ( while the West’s is declining) is their vast manufacturing sector is on full footing, 24/7.”

Russia’s GDP WAS increasing due to a war economy, much of which was paid for by robbing from their rainy day fund and was wasted on the battlefield.

Their GDP has now turned negative.

Russia is going broke paying for Putin’s two-week war.

“their vast manufacturing sector is on full footing, 24/7.”

I guess Putin’s memo to you got lost in the mail ...

President Vladimir Putin assures business leaders and the public last week that the current GDP growth slowdown—1.9% annually for January-February—is a planned corrective to curb inflation.

“Your opinion seems optimistic.”

Delta7 is a Putin propagandist.

A Martin Armstrong shill.

He predicted that a U.S. civil war would start in January 2025 with the U.S. breaking up into four new countries in 2026.

Armstrong detects the U.S. after being sent to the federal pen for eleven years after losing $700,000,000 of his client’s funds in a failed ponzi scheme.

He is a lying scammer here to find suckers willing to send him their money.

“Are they able to replace their more modern tanks that have been destroyed?”

They did recall over 100 of their WWII tanks from Indonesia!

“The amount of drones and weapons being produced is staggering, historic. The West’s arms production pales in comparison to Russia.”

Yep. Ukraine is making history.

This assembly line, operated by 3DTech, is just one of hundreds of similar operations making Ukraine’s killer drones. They’re made with cheap parts, such as motors, cameras, and carbon-fiber frames, largely sourced from China, allowing Ukraine to build an arsenal on a budget. Companies like this one are on the ground floor of an industry that, within years, has grown into a juggernaut rivaling Russia’s own war machine. Kyiv has said it produced 2.2 million drones last year, compared to Moscow’s 1.5 million.

Just wait until May 8. Air raid sirens will be going off during the parade.

I have read that they pulled obsolete tanks from storage that could be made operable fairly easily and even older ones from memorial and museum settings. This makes me think they have lost more in battle than anticipated. I think they have creatively used civilian vehicles of many types to aid in transport to and at the various front lines as well. Ialso read that some more modern Russian vehicles disabled by the Ukes were examined and their reactive ablative armor was stuffed with cardboard filler, etc, instead of explosives which could indicate corruption and diversion of parts during manufacture or upgrades. Remember the stories that the ChiComs found missiles UNUSABLE due to having been fueled with tap water and the rocket fuel instead sold by corrupt officials?

Putin can’t roll tanks to the polish border. He has no logistical system left. It would require fuel trucks rolling in open territory and would be ripe for destruction. His tanks are limited to 45 miles without resupply.

Thank you. Despite Russian bluff and blunder, I think sanctions are hurting their ability to replace things. If the West send massive amounts of drones and drone decoys plus artillery shells to the Ukes they would really slow things to nothing on the front there. I don’t know how the Ukes overcome the demographics disparity with Russia though. It is so massive.

“If the West send massive amounts of drones and drone decoys”

Ukraine struck a deal with Turkey on drone designs.

Now Ukraine is expected to produce five million in 2025.

Mr. Z just keeping the war going. No peace until Russia leaves sacred YouCrain Lands. Fight forever! Victory when Putin is dead. Russia is a push over. With NATO behind them, Kiev can not lose. If Ukraine can get or make ONE Nuke Bomb to take out Moscow—the Russians will beg for mercy and withdraw. Victory by June.

Mr. Z is the greatest leader since Napoleon or Churchill. Russia is done. Trump has no choice—he must give Ukraine all it asks for and more. Zelensky can have Trump killed any time he wants. Trump has to obey. All Europe needs is a good war to keep the powers that be in charge forever. I predict that when Trump falls it will be from a drone.

Russia has warned Ukraine of consequences for trying to ruin their national holiday celebration but was the warning hollow?

What are they going to do? Invade?
