Have you been to Hiroshima? It is like nothing bad ever happened there. It is a bustling, clean, beautiful city with a large Peace Park. People we met there were very friendly and accommodating as we wandered around the area.
My Dad was there in 1947.
It’s funny…he came away with a very different impression of the place.
I understand Hiroshima is like nothing ever happened. I’ve seen videos of a bustling city. But long did it take, and at what cost? What did they do with all of the radiation? The two bombs dropped on the two cities were nothing like the ones that exists now. I can imagine the destruction would be incredible. I know there are small “suitcase” bombs, but I don’t think they would do much except to bring the rest of Europe into the war big time. I think it would seriously backfire for Russia. Putin is a psycho, he has no morals, no conscience, but to start a nuclear war is something I don’t think even he really wants.
Two bombs.
What is feared is escalation. One side hits the other, the other retaliates. It escalates where dozens of bombs are used causing a nuclear disaster.
In Europe, over 1 billion dead within weeks. Over 300 million dead within minutes.
That much radiation spreads across the globe. Billions dead in months.
I always ask people who say nuclear war isnt disasterous. Do you like breathing, drinking and living with all that radiation? Because the USA set off so many above ground bomb tests, that it spread radiation all across the USA.
The underground tests at the NV test site contaminated the entire ground water Aquifer there. And its seeping towards inhabited areas.
