2 single people don't want to have babies. As much as working dads and stay at home moms is such a stereotype, the division of labor from such a relationship is the historical basis of the traditional nuclear family. Almost like God had a plan.

And this country will not get back to the traditional family model until government spending gets back to 10% of GDP or whatever measurement of wealth production is used. Right now it's about 30%. One breadwinner can't supply government at all levels with the cash flow needed to support government spending at current levels.

I connected a lot of dots to get the first 2 paragraphs done, but trying to solve a perceived baby shortage in a vacuum is not going to work. It's like trying to solve education in a vacuum, or gun violence, or poverty.

Bottom line - adults need a reason to have babies. Getting there is not one solution, but a series of changes in our society and ourselves.
