Scene from Bronx Tale: Kid in confession. It was great to be a Catholic. You could go to confession and start over every week.

____But you’re no different from ebb tide. You both like to post provocative snipes at religions other than your own. It’s hilarious to watch two resentful ‘religionists’ going after one another.___

So you went from not liking to watch faiths snipe at each other...to thinking it’s hilarious to watch.

As Jim Healy would say.....”Okaay” hahaha....funny

One guy up here, I think a roman Catholic said A Bronx Tale was a comedy. He didn’t like the scene I posted with the kid which is based on the life of the director Chad Palminteri. And he did actually witness a mob murder growing up in the Bronx.

And he did go to confession and he did feel being Catholic was great cause you could go to confession and then just start over again each week.

The Protestants of which Seventh day Adventist are......we don’t look to a priest or church to absolve us of our sins. We look to the mighty Christ.....we seek a deep, personal, profound relationship with him. He said we are his sheep and my sheep hear his voice. We are connected to the Savior...we long to be in his presence....

Not Mary, not a dead saint.....but the Living Christ. So when we sin, when we make a mistake, when we stumble...and we all do, every day.....we feel regret and remorse for the sin that caused the death of our Savior.

Not a mechanical cold religion.....like Chaz felt growing up. Hey, just sin and go confess and off to the races again.

That’s the point.

Jesus forgives. Ellen White chooses who He forgives.

Priests do not choose, they only forgive. If you are disingenuous, it serves you nothing.

Priests forgive in God’s name, not theirs. Priests consecrate the Eucharist in Hod’s name, not their sinful name.

You are a liar and a bigot, yet you present yourself as a great Christian. Read Stark’s book or wallow in your malicious ignorance.

A Hollywood movie. Wow, an unimpeachable source of information for questions about religion!

I think both vespa and ebb tide are really interested in things very different from faith and religion.

They’re entertaining - and fun to interrupt - but not worth getting too bothered about.

Vespa seems focused on hating and slandering people of a different denomination. Ebb Tibe is much more focused in fighting problems within his own denomination.

One of those essentially says there’s no salvation outside of one Church that they belong to.

The other essentially says that Talmudic Judaism that rejects the Son, is actually worshipping the Father in Spirit and Truth while any who believe on the Son, and assemble on a different day than a religion that doesn’t have the Son, is not worshipping the Father in Spirit and Truth.

Their arguments are ridiculous and do their respective Cults/Churches no favors..

Catholics man. It’s absolute nonsense that you can confess your sins to another man and be forgiven. That’s a personal conversation between your savior. Not some guy dressed up like a penguin. The whole idea of confessional at the beginning was for population control. Catholics need to wake up to this nonsense, dog and pony show.

The Catholic doctrine of "no salvation outside the church" is actually somewhat complex, not the simple "Catholics saved/everyone else damned" concept as critics portray it. For Catholics, salvation comes through Jesus, and Jesus is seen as acting primarily through the institutional church but also through anyone who has faith in Jesus and acts accordingly. Jesus acts invisibly worldwide and his grace is everywhere

Thus, the saving power of Jesus can also extend - as in the early centuries after Jesus's earthly life - to people who never heard of Jesus but who lead decent lives. Catholics do not deny the possibility of salvation to people who - through no fault of their own - never knew of Jesus. The power of prayer can also extend to people outside the boundaries of the visible, institutional church.

Me a great Christian? I don’t think there is such a thing. Paul said he was the chief of sinners. Jesus said there none good, no not one. In Matthew 7:11, he calls us all Evil. Because we are. From head to toe. I am and you are and we all are.

And that is why the holy seventh day Sabbath is my favorite day. Like a mighty Anchor, I can come back to him my creator and set aside these holy hours to commune with him in a very special way since he calls it “MY HOLY DAY”....He rested on it, he blessed it. And he Sanctified it in Genesis at creation.

I need it because I’m a very bad person. God bless.

If you truly believe yourself a very bad person (which I doubt), you have something in common with most of the Catholic saints, who often regarded themselves as the lowest of sinners.

Pay more attention, and you’ll see that at bottom, ebb tide is no different from vespa.

Have a good evening.

It’s the Sabbath tonite. And it’s sad Sabbath for us because a good friend of ours.....the CEO of a company listed on Wall St......he lost his Father yesterday. He is a Catholic and perhaps the most thoughtful giving generous man we have ever known.

And we grieve for him tonite. I listened to a song by Frank Sinatra tonite.....on the Sabbath. Called There used to be a Ball Park here. A song about memories.

I ask you to pray tonite for this good Roman Catholic man who lost his Father. He has done so much for so many others...and now he needs support and prayer. In fact, the funeral home can no longer hold any more flowers. Ours were among the last ones to be allowd. Thank you.and . God bless you .

The perception of the one poster is they are a terrible salesperson for the Catholic Church.

They are an even worse salesperson for the Papacy and Pope.

They are stuck in an abusive relationship and yet desires everybody else jump into one, too..
