sounds pretty openly queer to me.

On the British Top 20, in 1968, there was a song about a man who gets arrested and thrown in jail for stealing women’s clothing and fancying himself in the mirror.
In America, they technically were a one-hit wonder (with a different song) until 1980, but I’m being deliberately outrageous calling them that.
Any guesses who I am talking about?
