Russia's Putin says reverting to Stalingrad name up to city residents

Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday it was up to residents of Volgograd to decide whether the city should revert to the name of Stalingrad, as it was called when Soviet forces defeated Nazi invaders in World War Two's bloodiest battle.

Ahead of next week's commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union and its allies over Nazi Germany, the issue has been raised of restoring the wartime name of the southern Russian city.

Putin, quoted by state news agency RIA, was asked at a forum about restoring the city's former name - a sensitive issue in view of the association with the horrors of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin's nearly three-decade rule.

[You realize that we joined with the Soviets against the Nazis because Nazis were THE GREATER EVIL.

You’re disgrace for justifying neo-Nazism and embracing evil that we fought to destroy.

But, your logic, you hypocrite, can also be used to explain why some Russian hold Stalin in high regard — because he saved them from the Nazis, an enemy that killed 27 million Russians.

It’s just another example of the lengths that Zeepers will go to justify our association with the tyrannical, neo-Nazi government in Kiev.]

Ukrainians aren’t Nazis for celebrating Bandera any more than Italians are particularly homicidal for celebrating Rome and its rulers, who butchered and enslaved millions in their quest for empire, or Russians are stone killers for loving Stalin and multiple mass-murdering Russian tsars. Nations lionize the men who made their countries or empires a reality, despite their faults. If current day Ukrainians were Nazis, they wouldn’t have given a Jew a 40% victory margin, bigger than any president not named Madison.

Alliances of convenience are a dime a dozen. It’s a little amusing that Russians minimize Stalin’s entirely optional alliance with the Nazis, while Bandera’s alliance under threat of death is hyped to the heavens.

Which regime, Moscow or Kyiv, has invaded another country, bombed their cities, and denied their existence as an independent people? Now tell me who are the real Nazis. Actions are what counts, not flags and statues. Stop defending the actions of Putin and his Russian nationalist.

Russia is an exception here. 95 new Stalin statues have been erected during Putin’s reign.

Which regime, Moscow or Kyiv, has invaded another country

We have invaded for more countries than either.

And, we were absolutely justified in invading Afghanistan.

The Russians have FAR better reasons to be in Ukraine than we did during either Iraq war.

Ukrainian nationalists violated its own Constitution by fomenting an illegal coup that installed a government hostile to Russia. Ukraine's constitution required neutrality and every government official in Ukraine knew it and knew what happen if it wasn't.

The illegal coup in 2014 setoff a civil war, one the removed a President the VAST majority in the annexed area voted for. The people there have every right to their independence or to join the Russian Federation. That's they did and they aren't going back.

Ukraine can and should be turned into mushroom cloud if the idiots running Ukraine don't allow the people in the annexed area to have their freedom.

Ukrainians aren’t Nazis for celebrating Bandera

What absolutely load of crap.

You're either ignorant or lying.

School children sing songs about Bandera. Those at marches hold up his picture. There are more than 150 monuments or streets honoring him.

Who the hell do you think you're fooling? I have no doubt that your PROFESSIONAL LIAR.

And, Bandera worship has certainly been condemned by Israel:

Israeli ambassador bemoans glorification of Ukrainian leader

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — The Israeli ambassador to Ukraine has sharply criticized local legislators’ move to honor a Ukrainian nationalist leader.

Ambassador Joel Lion said on Facebook that he was ā€œshocked’ to see the regional legislature in Lviv in western Ukraine declare 2019 ā€œthe year of Stepan Banderaā€ to mark the 110th anniversary of his birth.

Bandera was a leader of Ukraine’s nationalist movement, which included an insurgent army that for one period sided with the Nazis during World War II. Jewish groups have linked Bandera’s followers to the mass murders of Jews.

Lion said ā€œI can’t understand how the glorification of those directly involved in horrible anti-Semitic crimes helps fight anti-Semitism and xenophobia.ā€ The ambassador that ā€œUkraine shouldn’t forget those crimes committed against Ukrainian Jews and in no way celebrate them through honoring their perpetrators.ā€

Bandera’s boys killed over 100,000 Poles. That’s five times more than the Russians killed at Katyń.

Zelensky’s 40% victory margin is no lie. Nazis want Jews killed to the last, not elected national leaders.

Israel’s hyper-sensitivity to Bandera’s rehabilitation is understandable, but not particularly smart. By allying with Hitler and giving him the resources to conquer huge chunks of Europe, Stalin gave him the opportunity to kill millions of Jews. But you’ll never hear a peep out of Israeli pols about Stalin, a key enabler of the Holocaust, even as they go after bit players like Bandera, who worked with Nazis to stay alive, then killed them, where Stalin did so for mere strategic gain.

To a Wehrmacht intent on reaching Moscow, the Germans appeared like saviors from Stalinism AND the Holodomor.

Are some Ukrainians Nazis? Sure. But at least 70% are not - they chose a Jewish leader. Russia has its own Nazis. What they share is an affinity for theater. A Slavic Nazi is like a Jewish one - a contradiction in terms. Hitler wanted Slavs extinct, although he was happy to make a temporary accommodation before their very own Endlƶsung.

Again, my first hand knowledge was talking to people in what was former Leningrad about Stalin. Putin may have been rewriting Russian history, but the truth came out about the evils of Stalin after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Anyone worshipping Bandera is as much a Nazi sympathizer as he is.

There is absolutely no justification for admiration for anyone affiliating Nazism.

The Nazis WERE OUR ENEMY IN WORLD WAR II.

Please do some proper research on the Ukie neo-Nazis.
Even better, go to the Ukraine and have a chit-chat with Ukrainian Jews, you might learn a few things.
Regardless, you can deny it until pigs fly, the Ukraine is crawling with Neo-Nazis.

Marchers hold the symbol of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, known as 1st Galician, in Kyiv, Ukraine on April 28, 2021.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry and Ukrainian Jews have protested the veneration of the 1st Galician and other collaborators, but their popularity soared following the 2014 coup, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported May 3, 2021.

After the 2014 coup regime, infested with neo-Nazis, launched a campaign of terror against Russian-speaking Donbas, which accounted for a third of Ukraine’s population, the pogrom-like burning to death of ethnic Russians and others in Odessa reawakened memories of Nazi extermination squads in Ukraine during World War II.
(It was across the plains of Ukraine’s ā€œborderlandā€ that Hitler’s divisions swept from the west in 1941, bolstered by Ukraine’s Nazi cultists and collaborators. The result was more than 20 million Russian dead.)
Today, storm-like assaults on Jews, elderly ethnic Russians, and other ā€˜impure’ citizens are widespread throughout Kyiv-ruled Ukraine, along with torchlight marches reminiscent of those that eventually inflamed Germany in the late 1920s and 1930s.
The police and official legal authorities do virtually nothing to prevent these neo-fascist acts or to prosecute them.
On the contrary, Kyiv has officially encouraged them by systematically rehabilitating and even memorializing Ukrainian collaborators with Nazi German extermination pogroms, renaming streets in their honour, building monuments to them, rewriting history to glorify them, and more.

It’s disgusting and eye opening, how many of you zeepers are Nazi sympathizers or play dumb and pretend that the Ukraine is not a hot-bed for neo-Nazis.
Get a clue.
