Why did it take Musk's DOGE program to force Rand Paul to speak out against federal government corruption and fraud? Rand Paul has been a Senator since his election in 2010 -- a very long time, meaning he's partially responsible to the rampant corruption of our Federal Government that DOGE has exposed. Also, his fellow senator in Kentucky is the RINO-in-chief, Mitch McConnell. Perhaps Rand is beholden to him in some way. Likewise, his father is Ron Paul, a strict libertarian (now 89 years old). There have been and still are many in Congress my age or OLDER, so they have NO excuse for being THIS uneducated. Rand is younger and perhaps he went to crappy schools.
But when I went to school, we went into this stuff, IN DETAIL, when I was a FRESHMAN in high school! And prior to that, we learned a bit about taxes and tariffs in THE FIFTH GRADE!
LIBERTARIANS ARE JUST DOWNRIGHT WEIRD! They're all over the place, which I suspect is due to the fact that when that "party" began, they took XXXXX from Dems and XXXXX from the GOP; as one might have ordered, long ago, from a Chinese restaurant menu. And THAT is WHY they are all over the place and NOTHING meshes.
And neither Ron nor Rand have EVER gotten anything at all DONE; all hat and NO cattle; the 2 of them. They're all talk ( HOT AIR! ), and NO do!

| Sounds like you attended a first rate school, nopardons. Learning about taxes and tariffs in FIFTH grade is impressive. Politicians usually can't be trusted because they lack that essential ingredient: skin-in-the-game experience, especially when it comes to running a large enterprise. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote an essay on Wealth and here's what he said:

Rand Paul is bought and paid for by Communist China. That’s why he sold out President Trump and the Republican Party by hooking up with far left Democrats in the Senate to derail President Trump’s tariffs on foreign countries ripping off the United States. Rand Paul has a broken moral compass and a complete loss of ethics.

Rand Paul’s PAC and senate campaign have raked in tens of thousands of dollars from the owners and employees of the U.S. Immigration Fund, an unseemly brokerage facilitating wealthy foreign investors and their families to obtain EB-5 visas and permanent green card residency in the U.S.
The Mastroianni Clan operates the U.S. Immigration Fund. Members of the Mastroianni Clan and their employees have poured money into Rand Paul’s campaign coffers.
Nicholas Mastroianni II was sued by Chinese nationals in a $99.5 million fraudulent scheme involving the EB-5 visa program. Mastroianni settled the case for tens of millions of dollars. Mastroianni has a lengthy criminal history including four arrests for felony possession of a controlled substance in Rhode Island.
Mastroianni’s website boasts of involvement with $5.5 billion in development projects over the years, funded with $1.4 billion in EB-5 money, resulting in “40,000 jobs created.” Those are massive sums given that the entire EB-5 system raised a total of about $1.8 billion the previous year. Forest City Ratner CEO MaryAnne Gilmartin calls Mastroianni the “ ‘go-to’ leader in the field of EB-5 funding.”
The Immigrant Investor Visa Program was created in 1990. It provides a method for eligible immigrant investors to become lawful permanent residents—informally known as “green card” holders—by investing substantial capital to finance a U.S. business as long as it creates at least 10 new, full-time jobs for Americans and work-authorized immigrants.
The EB-5 visa program has been wracked with fraud and corruption since its conception.
A 2015 study found “that Chinese wealthy private business owners are mainly participants in EB-5 for acquiring a U.S. green card on behalf of their young adult children. The rate of return of the EB-5 program for investors is a low-priority item, less important than return of capital.
In 2013, the SEC issued an investor alert to warn investors about an increase in fraudulent investment scams that exploit the EB-5 visa program.
Between 2009 and 2013, GreenTech Automotive, led by founder and CEO Charlie Wang, raised $141.5 million from Chinese investors under the EB-5 program. As of August 2013, however, out of 91 foreign investors in GreenTech, only one had received permanent residency status. In Nov. 2017, a total of 32 Chinese investors in the company brought a $17 million fraud lawsuit against Greentech and its principals. GreenTech declared bankruptcy in Feb. 2018.
Vermont’s EB-5 program was “burned” with the “massive eight-year fraudulent scheme” in which the owners of Jay Peak Ski Resort in Vermont misappropriated funds for a $350 million EB-5 project.
Based on the EB‐5 Reform and Integrity Act, which was signed into law on March 15, 2022, the minimum investment requirement to qualify under the EB-5 program is $1,050,000. The investment requirement is reduced to $800,000 if the investment is made in a qualifying infrastructure project or Targeted Employment Area.
As of April 23, 2020, 78,278 investors have applied for the EB-5 program. Most investors—about 80%—come from four countries: China, South Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. Large numbers of applicants have also come from Vietnam, India, Brazil, Mexico, and Nigeria. In 2014, 85% of the 10,692 EB-5 visas issued were for Chinese nationals.

I also had some really good teachers and my 5th grade one was THE best!
Trust me, the tariff and taxes info was on grade level, it was talked about the section re THE BOSTON TEA PARTY, and not in depth.
Then, when I was a freshman in college, the taxes V tariffs were hammered home in GREAT detail, in the private school I went to in Pa.( you might have heard of it, as it's in Kingston, Pa. ), along with the Constitution, which we had to practically know, word for word, by heart!
And yes, Rand Paul IS an "intellectual IDIOT", and just plain old STUPID!
