Can MAGA-Style Rallies Work in Britain? Farage Will Find Out
NYT ^ | April 30 | NYT

Nigel Farage, a right-wing populist ally of President Trump, has been touring England ahead of local elections, hoping to convert a polling surge for his party into power.

....

Mr. Farage, who leads the anti-immigration party Reform U.K., has long been one of Britain’s most ardent supporters of President Trump. He has learned from the president’s campaign tactics, too.

That means, among other things, that the political rally is back in Britain.

In the weeks before municipal elections and a special election in England on May 1, Mr. Farage has been touring the country, taking to the stage in Cornwall, Darlington and Hull, smiling broadly, cracking jokes and railing against “illegal immigrants,” whom he promises to deport.

Since returning to the leadership of Reform last year and then being elected as a British lawmaker for the first time, Mr. Farage has led the insurgent party to an extraordinary surge in the polls. It won 14 percent of the vote last July, but now regularly polls at around 25 percent, overtaking the main opposition Conservatives and, in some surveys, the governing Labour Party.

Beware of the leftists (which comprises an even greater percentage of UK gubmit that the leftist slime here) attempting bad stuff on the protestors. UK, embrace the disturbing, but ultimately just benefits of a civil war.

Can MAGA-Style Rallies Work in Britain? Farage Will Find Out

Only if Nigel is completely free of political correctness and can tell it like it is from the gut like Trump. People can tell.

There has to be a total commitment to truth and freedom or it will not nor should not, work.

I’m sure that the same government that will arrest people for memes will be completely on board with Farage rallies.

The native Brit can still win this, if they are prepared to never give up and stay united. Every day, however, they get older and fewer in numbers so they pretty much have to be in a rush about it.

Right out of the gate British leaders have a problem in acquiescing to having a king - flies in the face of individual God-given life, liberty including free speech against the gov’t, and free pursuits.

Nigel Farage, a right-wing populist“

Yeah right wing. Farage better take a good look at Canada. Pierre went squish and talked like Carney. He came off like a me too loser and got tossed. Now Canada is really in the stew.

Farage must take a lesson from Poilievre in Canadia. Go moderate, go home.

Christ is King so having a king is not a defacto position of being against God-given life, liberty and free speech. But because of concupiscence it is really very difficult for civilizations and governments to have a king and monarchy that is truly just and fair but it is possible. It would take a truly humble and God-fearing sovereign to pull it off.

Until Christ returns as King of kings and Lord of lords to directly reign as worldwide sovereign over the earth, the best gov’t known to man is the Rule of Law, the just and sound U.S. Constitution.

The “Divine Right of Kings” is the Rule of Man which threatens the individual and fails.

Having a king flies in the face of the right to free speech against the gov’t. If you have free speech, then the “king” is more of an elected or appointed official.

In theory they could.

In practice, they won’t because Farage is not Trump and does not have the charisma to pull off those kinds of rallies.

No, because Farange is a fake and people can sense that. It would be like Bush trying to hold a rally like that.

Mark Steyn has ripped Farage on numerous occasions due to Nigel’s not supporting Tommy Robinson. You are right; he is a phony.

They better watch what they say. Plenty of speech is illegal in Blighty.

I disagree - free speech is a right which a true King must obey. I think you misunderstand the real meaning of a King.

a right which a true King must obey

Then in that scenario, there is something higher than the king to which he must obey - that would be a just Rule of Law - the best governance in man's rulership this side of heaven.

When Jesus is King of kings, HE will be the highest authority - He IS the Word of God.
