Thank you very much and God bless you.
Interesting. Whole chicken here in south Florida at Publix is 7.99. I get the Mojo flavor. It’s a big bird, outstanding flavor, and feeds 3 easily. They run specials often and you can pick up lemon pepper or Mardi Gras flavored for 5.99 when that happens. For dining out, Flannigans lunch specials are the best in town -6.99 for a huge burger, fries and drink or some other combo like a half chicken and fries.
Nothing better than a Steak dinner in my opinion.
Have a great Sunday
“I’m intrigued what a good steak meal for 2 costs.”
Bone-in tenderloin at local old school steakhouse is $75. With tip and a decent bottle of wine you’re looking at $300. That’s the price for the last few years.
Pretty good deal
Those biscuits have at least $4.00 worth of butter, pass me another please.
During covid, I stopped at a KFC, ordered 2 pieces of chicken, some steak fries, and no dr8nk as I had my own.
The teller said over the intercom, “that’ll be $22.30” or thereabouts- can’t remember exact amount.
I had her repeat as I thought I misheard. She confirmed. I said “are you serious? For 2 pieces of chicken and some fries?”
She replied “I’m sorry, but covid is causing problems with chicken supplies, and the price has gone up”
I cancell3d the order and stopped at a grocery store and bought a precooked hot whole.chicken for $5.99-
Apparently the grocery store wasn’t affected by scarcity of chickens
If you don’t go for overprice alcohol and appetizers, you can probably get out for $100 a person at a chain like Capital Grill or Ruth’s Chris. Add another $100 for appetizers and deserts and tips; so budget about $250 - $300, more for heavy drinkers or wine snobs - perhaps a lot more.
If you are going for the food instead of the restaurant name, you can probably get out for not much over $100 for two (I’d budget $150) for a place like Seasons 52. Wine seems to be their profit center.
Interesting tidbit Capital Grille, Ruth’s Chris, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s and ..... Olive Garden(!!!) are all owned by the same company.
We went to pizza hut in Claremont,NH last night and had bacon cheese breadsticks, and a super supreme pizza and 2 root beers. A waitress takes your order . It was $45. With tip, $60
I know it depends on your circumstances but it’s a luxury at those prices for many..
Trump should push through no tax on tips. That ought to help the service sector.
KFC jacked its prices up to ridiculous levels about 1-2 years ago now.
They used to have a few reasonable deals, but now, they aren’t even worth considering.
I think they still have the 8 piece dark meat bucket for $10 ion Tuesdays. But other than that their bucket meals are insane.
Actually cheaper to buy 4 2 piece meals than buy the 8 piece meal by far. Nearly 50% more for the 8 piece meal bucket a the only thing you are getting. Beyonf buying 4 two piece meal is a second side. Literally. 4 2 piece meals come wit 2 pieces of chicken potatoes and gravy and a biscuit.
8 piece family meal 2 sides 4 biscuits and 8 pieces of chicken. $10 extra dollars literally just to get a second side dish.
It’s a luxury for me. Ruth’s Chris and Capital Grille other folks paid. Season’s 52 was a special occasion that was budgeted for. I haven’t eaten at an Olive Garden in years.
With tip, close to $100.
It's not just the tax on tips. Restaurants are skimming 3% to cover the credit card charges on non-cash tips.
And service worker pay hasn't kept up with inflation.
“ Make it yourself.

I’m going to try this with wings. Maybe add Franks hot sauce to the buttermilk mixture.
Public fried chix tastes way better than KFC. Wlly world has roasted whole chic for $7.
If it works, make it a regular with boneless chicken breasts
Keeping Fingers Crossed...
The wife and I occasionally go to Ihop for breakfast. 2x2x2 selection with a coffee for both runs $30 plus tip. Thats 2 eggs, crispy bacon and 2 small pancakes for each. The wife mentioned the last time we went that the pancakes had were smaller.
Branded Burger chain, burger for two, shared order of onion rings and tea. Yep, $30 plus tip. Crafty devils charge $4.59 per iced tea serving (colored water).
Its been this way since the biden stolen election.
$100.00
