I don't know how to define "globalists" apart from those who would trade internationally,

I, and I think many others would define globalists as those who would want global governance, or government that transcends national borders.

...but I think it might apply to nations that invade their neighbors, like those who invade Georgia, Chechnya, Ukraine.

I think globalism is commonly used to describe governance that transcends Western borders, and not to describe Putin's desire to expand and control.

I thought the war was between Ukraine and Russia with the United States and our European allies in support of Ukraine.

I believe without the Western globalists and Putin's expansionist intentions, the people of Ukraine, Russia and the US would not want to fight or fund this war.

Hence I said, the war is between the (Western) globalists and (the expansionist) Putin.

My understanding is the American idiot CIA was behind the whole mess.
I believe their motivation was protecting the petrodollar since Russia has been completing oil contracts based on other currencies. There is also the continuing threat posed by the effort of BRICS nations to replace the dollar as the world’s reserve currency.

Only continued conflict would achieve the goal.

Loving our brothers by promoting war is not loving our brothers.

Then your understanding would be wrong. This was all about Putin trying to accomplish the Russian nationalist goal of bringing Ukraine back under Moscow's control. All the talk about the CIA is just Russian cover for this intention.

Loving our brothers by promoting war is not loving our brothers.

And leaving them to be subjugated by another country is? Ukraine is trying to defend its independence and deserves our support. There would be no war without Russia's attack. It is Russia and its supporters who are promoting war, not those who are defending against the invasion.

It deserves... That sense of false values here is part of the problem here. There is nothing that makes this true. They deserve actually not a single thing. Their right to any US support is baseless.

Crying isn't an argument.

For those of us who are not bereft of a sense of morality and who do not see the world only through the lens of self-interest, then yes, Ukraine does deserve our support.

Your morality is meaningless because its based on nothing. Extending a war you cannot win is an immoral choice.

History is filled with wars that could not be won that were won. The Ukrainians should be the ones who decide how long they will resist Russian aggression.

False analogies to the past and wishful thinking. This is not a war of centuries ago, and among them are plenty of examples of failures in the mix as well.

USA has absolutely no obligation nor has any interest in funding Ukraine and prolonging this current war, which has lasted for more than three years now! There is still no victory in sight after that long of a time. There won’t be. And while people winge on the internet about “morality” (whatever you think that is!) People are still dying.

Everyone thought that Ukraine would fall in a few weeks, if not in a few days. Yet after three years it stands. Nor are Russia’s resources unlimited. They are running out of equipment and its economy is in serious trouble, especially now that the price of oil has fallen. It is not just wishful thinking to say that Russia may not be able to continue this war much longer. And as for people dying, that is because Russia is pursuing this war. Ukraine should be the one who says how much is enough in their defense, not us.
