Here is the odd part. Mike Joy (Fox Sports) always says at broadcasts for fans to mosey on over to the local track to watch local racing. When they raced Saturday nights on Fox, at the 10 PM hour, he’d come over and say, “Welcome to those of you who are coming back from your local track.”
Fox doesn’t touch Saturday night local racing because Joy wants fans at the local tracks. He isn’t afraid to pop down a few dollars of his own and after qualifying or practice to head over for the tracks. One year, he and DW showed up as guests of Bowman Gray on the 600 weekend. Sure enough, they presented the race winner in Modifieds with the chequered flag and did meet and greets.
When you have a broadcaster say “go to the local tracks,” I don’t think he expected the Madhouse, but these fans understand heroes and villains.

The Madhouse season is just about over early — weeks before other tracks because WSSU has to use it for football.
Maybe one of the off-weeks we need a Wrexham friendly at the Madhouse.
