The Democrats have staked their political fortunes on the issues that Americans dislike the most.
The phrase “the hill you choose to die on” is an expression meaning a belief, opinion, or position that one is fiercely committed to defending, even when it is impractical or contrary to one’s long-term goals. It suggests a willingness to fight or resist to the point of losing, rather than pivoting, conceding, or compromising.
In the political world, most players lack conviction or principles. They are swayed by the political winds, the latest opinion polls, or the size of the most recent campaign contributions they receive. Their positions are primarily situational, influenced by their proximity to the next reelection bid or which Sunday morning talk show has invited them as guests.
Democrats, finding themselves in the minority during President Donald Trump’s first term, are attempting to stem their political bleeding by choosing odd hills to stand on in an effort to bolster their political appeal ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Fortunately for Trump and his party, Democrats are selecting sinkholes rather than hills.
As Trump settles into his three-month groove, Democrats are grasping at political straws, trying to derail the Trump train. Rasmussen Reports shows Trump with a solid 50 percent approval rating among likely US voters.
A new Daily Mail poll places his current approval rating at 54 percent, tying with his all-time highest. This is after the recent tariff chaos.
Start with immigration and Trump’s deportation of illegal aliens. According to a Pew Research Center poll, “Of the roughly 51% of adults who support at least some deportation of illegal immigrants, nearly all support deporting those who commit violent crimes, according to the poll.”

The left is showing just how crazy they are.
When you are in the far side and beyond the overton window, you are afraid to go anywhere but even farther, because you do not want the overton window to slip back away if you move to the middle and join them. By joining moderates, you are tacetly approving of moderate positions and candidates.
The leftists can’t do that!
They think of themselves as revolutionaries at war.
They want to pull from the far end of the spectrum. They are not the least bit interested at appealing to the masses and pushing them left. That would feel like a betrayal to their principles (however twisted those are)

Yup, it’s always been way more than 51%. The commie lefts’ propaganda has kept the real percentage of probably 90% from being 99%.
I’d like to see approval rating polls on the judicial system. The left wing, Democrat, Obama judge cabal are obviously throwing a wrench into the gears of the Trump admin by blocking his executive orders. A low approval rating for the judicial system would send a shot across their bow.
I remember when Democrats of old would lie, seeming to support reasonable things that probably sixty to eighty percent of the voters also supported. Then they’d find a reason to, say, vote for gay marriage. They’d “evolve” or something along that line.
I have to give it to them that they’re no longer lying to fool voters. They’re just coming right out and saying things equivalent to Satan good Christ bad. This is so obvious that even someone, in this case a non-believer, would think, “You know, this person has a severe problem and maybe I don’t want to vote for someone openly advocating evil.”
I don’t understand what’s happened. I’m going for an analogy. Decades ago, I was at a college concert. This hippy-type was openly smoking pot. A cop politely asked him to please put it out. (This is ’79. Illegal and arrestable at the time.) The kid argued with the cop, refusing because “everyone does it.” The cop tried several times and finally arrested the kid. The kid was SHOCKED!!! He kept saying there was nothing wrong with it because everyone did it.
Here’s the comparison. I think in the kid’s world, he was right. Everyone he knew did it, therefore it was societally okay. (Okay with his society does not mean legal or allowed on a larger societal level. There was a complete ignorance and disconnect there.) Democrats are the same as that kid. They are so isolated in their liberal bubbles that advocating for vacuuming a full-term baby out of a womb is “heroic.” Turning murderous gang members loose into neighborhoods is just fine.
Assuming these are normal people, how can anyone become so isolated from realty…so lacking in empathy that they can openly advocate for outrageous, insane policies?

I would like to see approval ratings for congresses refusal to impeach the rogue judges....
This could be a case where God has sent a spirit of confusion among the left like he did to the enemies of Israel in the bible- the left are self destructing and what they are self destructing over seems insane, because it is. Perhaps the lord is causing them to double down on stupid in order to undermine their party rapidly.
I guess midterms will will tell a more complete story whether this is the case or not
