A wannabe-G.I. Jane’s dream of becoming the first female Navy S.E.A.L. ended because military recruiters delayed her application so long that she aged out, she claimed in a lawsuit.
The US Navy officials failed to advance Amanda S. Reynolds’ application, then told her in the fall that she would no longer qualify for Naval Officer Training Command in Newport, RI, because she’d be over the age limit of 42 by the time she graduated, according to court papers.
“The opportunity . . . was kind of taken away from me. I would like that to be reinstated,” Reynolds, 41, told The Post. “I would just like the outcome to be determined by the merits instead of by some sort of technicality.

Considering the wash out rate for Navy Seal training is typically 70% to 80%, I suspect litigation was her whole plan all along.
The Fall...hmmmm....Who was PRESIDENT in the fall?
41 year old woman wants to be a navy seal. Christ. Some super fit strong 25 year old male warriors. Best of the best. They can’t do it. But she can? Joke.
I’m waiting for the fired female refs in the NFL do the same. Public won’t stand for bad calls that affect the game-happens anyway. Can’t allow it to continue.
Who was SecDef in the fall?
Once again, the Trump administration has to clean up a mess that idiot biden administration made.
Easy to validate. Enlistment record and eventual DOD 214.
If the Navy had " 'no record of service; for her," and she has none to show, she must be one dumb female.
Didn't go to Navy boot nor Officer Training in 2018? 2019? Sat around waiting for the phone to ring? Sat around waiting for orders by mail? Didn't ask THEN? Waited until now?
"...revisited her enlistment in 2020?" This is a very poorly written piece, with pertinent questions avoided. The almost 500 comments generally agree. Ambulance-chasing, in another costume.
If this was 100 days ago, I would have said that the Commander in Chief and his subordinates have plenary authority over issues like this, and are immune from civil suit. Now, with judges trying to overthrow the Constitution, who can say for sure
Reading the entire article is very strange…claiming she was “ sworn into” the Navy in 2018? Her DUI didn’t help to pad her resume.
these filthy bitches make me sick ...
How could a woman that age pass or have passed the crushing SEAL week physical demands?
“An avid long-distance runner and swimmer who is SCUBA certified, Reynolds said the special forces “kind of jibed with my physical pursuits.”

She actually thinks those physical abilities are enough to carry her through Seal training....you’d think an educated lawyer would have done some research as to what all is involved.
Sounds looney. She is bouncing all over both physically and mentally.
“It was never really about me being a female SEAL,”
“I hope to serve as this country’s first female Navy SEAL Officer, so that there may be a second, and a third, and an infinitesimal many more female candidates who might impress upon you these shared values in the very same way,” she wrote.
So she was this side of 35 when she enlisted, got sworn in, and was never deployed even to some kind of orientation program? Boot Camp? Testing? I’m assuming she had a college degree and attempted to enlist as an officer (ensign or a higher rank depending on her skills). The Navy just lost track of her? And she waited until 2025 to inquire? Something is missing from this story. A lot of things I suspect.
She’s a lawyer that wants attention that is cheaper than billboards.
Agree there are things missing? For starters, what is her suggested legal remedy? It will be CASH. So the remaining detail is -- HOW MUCH?
I don’t think she ever had any intention of going through Seal training.
Amanda Reynolds is likely confusing the Department of the Navy with the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps where you can be all you say you are, not just all you can be.
Working lawyer hours = physical fitness weekend warrior, at best. Thinking she could do it at + 40 years of age is Delusional.
“For starters, what is her suggested legal remedy.”
So drop her into the next class at Coronado. See how long she lasts. I’d put $50 on less than a week.
L
Tort reform would fix this. The defense Department should sue her back for wasting their time.
