Silent killing fields 50 years on from Khmer Rouge atrocities

On April 17, 1975, soldiers of the ultra-Maoist Khmer Rouge rolled into the capital astride tanks, toppling the US-backed republican army of Lon Nol and starting a four-year communist government.

To remember victims, a Cambodian opposition party asked for authorities' permission to hold a memorial at Choeung Ek -- the most notorious of the Khmer Rouge's "Killing Fields" -- in the capital Phnom Penh.

But the city refused to greenlight the event, citing issues of "public order" and safety, and warned that the group would be held legally responsible, according to a letter seen by AFP

When my kids were learning about the Holocaust it was so “This could never happen again.” I told them that it did and DOES happen again and told them of the various things that Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot did in more recent times.

And at the time the Tutsi/Hutsi ethnic massacres were ongoing.

“Another horrible chapter in communism that wont be taught in schools.”

Only in colleges can such horrific dogmas be invented. Of course they won’t teach about it. Just the “well that wasn’t real communism...”

It took the Vietnam Communists to put a stop to it.

I remember when Saigon and Pnom Penh fell, there were 50,000 celebrating in Manhattan’s Central Park in what one news account called “a joyous day of revelry and song”. They were addressed in raucous speeches by Congressthings Elizabeth Holtzman and the late beastly and unlamented communist Bella Abzug (Miss Holtzman went on to lose to Al D’Amato for the NY Senate in the 1980 Reagan landslide and is still bitter about it - Ha, Ha!). There were performances by Paul Simon, Pete Seeger and Joan Baez yet not one of these people ever paid a price for cheering on another Holocaust. But God saw and heard them, He heard them all as did our dead veterans of those wars.

The Weather Underground had plans to exterminate at least 25 Million Americans had they ever achieved power.

Ain’t no “had” about it. Their progeny still dreams of the day they can kill us for our own good.

And Miss Bernadine Dohrn, partner of one William Ayers and both friends of the Obamas in Chicago and proud bombers of the Capitol, dedicated her “book” to Sirhan Sirhan, assassin of RFK. Neither spent a minute in jail but I did help block Miss Dohrn from being admitted to the Illinois State Bar on the grounds of unfitness to practice (it would be like sharing a hotel room with a skunk). That was before people who were invited into the Capitol by the police force spent months in prison at the behest of the likes of liberal Judges Boasberg and Amy Berman Jackson.

It took the Vietnam Communists to put a stop to it.

And China was upset at the overthrow of one of their few allies, so they invaded Northern Vietnam to "teach them a lesson."

Every year, liberal “historians” rate the US Presidents. In the estimate of these fools, Reagan is down around # 30, just above the wretched failure Jimmy Carter and the Bushes, and LBJ is always in the Top Ten. Last time I looked there was no mention of the falsified Gulf of Tonkin incident and his lying us into Vietnam which he prosecuted like a simpleton. Not a word about the war he started and botched. And never any mention, of course, of LBJ’s hired hitman’s fingerprints being found and verified on the Sixth Floor of the Texas School Book Depository.

One of the scariest scenes in movie history was in the Movie The Killing Fields. He was running across a field and fell into a pit of water. As he got up he could see dead bodies.

As he stands up, the camera pull back and you see him looking at a endless field of dead bodies...

How can LBJ be in the top 10? He was an utter failure. I guess his start of the perpetual welfare state is a plus for some people...
