I hadn’t seen much news today. This is super - thanks for posting. I read his book “Into The Fire” just recently.

Imagine the impact on a group of young Marines who end up with Sgt. Dakota Meyer as their squad leader.
Imagine the impact on a platoon or company commander fortunate enough to have him as a squad leader.

So with the Army, any break in service more than five years generally means redoing basic training.
I’d assume the Marines have something similar? Sixteen years later, MoH, that’ll be interesting. Should go officer route - at least get paid better!
