I watched the first season and enjoyed it immensely. I didn’t realize that Stephen Lang played Samuel. Thanks for the heads-up. Michael Iskander who played David did a marvelous job. When I checked his filmography, I found that “House of David” was his first on-screen project.

Earned my hearty recommendation as well.
I’m wondering how many seasons they’re planning. I could certainly see at least four: (2) Saul v. David; (3) King David; (4) Solomon. Could easily stretch that out....

It was outstanding, not sentimental or romantic trash; seems well-researched. It's the second highest series on PrimeVideo with Season II due out towards the end of the year.
