There was only one person on the flight who had a clue about going into space (aerospace engineer). So if something happened to incapacitate that one…? Or was this like a carnival ride, all controlled by someone not actually on the ride?

i was wondering about that myself ... REALLY EXPENSIVE carnival ride seems like a better description of the situation ... that and images of the first poor monkeys shot into space to see if they would survive [until they were euthanized] ...
