I miss the days of a paper driver’s license.

Something I did for about 7 years was never carry a license, if caught for speeding or another traffic violation, when the cop saw that you had forgotten your license he would write you a citation for that and skip the speeding or whatever, so you beat the speeding or U-turn, and then the judge would let you off when you showed him that you had a license but had merely forgotten it that day.

It worked like a charm for years, but times change, with mass immigration a driver’s license started being needed for everything and people and cops got meaner and more formal.

cops used to be cool- long ago- back in the day- They had to live in the neighboorhoods and understood folks made mistakes- today- nope- no mistakes allowed- unless of course one is an illegal alien-

I had so many breaks by cops growing up- serious breaks too- Cops back then, at least in our town, were more like extended fathers or friends who tried to keep folks on the straight and narrow without fining them- they were more like psychologists than cops lol- BUT- when someone was seriously over the line- they could be pretty brutal and didn’t take any crap from the person- they had a lot less restrictions on how they could interact with the real thugs.
