I was harassed for being white, had a stroke at N.J. charter school, woman says in lawsuit

Tina Volpe, 65, claims in court papers she endured months of racially charged comments and retaliatory behavior before suffering a stress-induced stroke earlier this year.

She was ultimately forced to resign under threat of being labeled as having abandoned her job, she alleges in her lawsuit, filed April 3 in Passaic County Superior Court.

In her complaint, Volpe, who served as supervisor of the school’s English as a Second Language department, accuses school administrators of fostering a hostile environment where she was demeaned because she is white.

Ira Griffith, chief executive officer for the school, denied the claims in Volpe’s lawsuit when contacted Tuesday morning.

“This lawsuit is wholly without merit, and the school categorically denies the contrived information in the complaint,” Griffith said(snip)

Volpe claims in court papers that from July 2023 through February 2024, she was called “a white b----” and “whitey” by colleagues, students and parents.

“This was done openly and obviously in front of parents, teachers, administrators, and other staff members,” the lawsuit claims.

On another occasion during the 2023-24 school year, two colleagues told Volpe that she did not need to participate in multicultural day, according to the lawsuit.

They allegedly stated her Caucasian culture “should not be reflected,” the suit alleges.(snip)

“This is not a place for white people to teach or work,” one administrator declared during a meeting, while looking directly at Volpe, the lawsuit claims.(snip)

Volpe claims she was pressured to falsify and manipulate Individualized Education Programs for special education students, which she refused to do.(snip)

The complaint states that the school’s administration invalidated special education plans to cut costs while continuing to accept state grant money earmarked for those services.

Volpe said she warned administrators, including the school’s attorney, that the school could face legal consequences, but her concerns were dismissed.

My blond blue eyed daughter did her student teaching in Mississippi and she felt so loved. It was a great experience. She actually enjoys working in the title 1 school districts. The reverse racism movement will only hurt the education community. Everyone has individual gifts to contribute that arent skin deep.

You know what? There are other jobs. You don’t have to stay at a job where you are treated badly. How about looking for a job where you will be happy? Why stay at a job where you are treated like crap? Would I want a job where jerks insulted me on an hourly basis? No.

Some cultures are successful.
Some cultures are failures.
Some cultures are violent feral savages unfit for civilized society.
95% black homicides are black-on-black. (FBI stats)
