Sardine sandwiches were pretty popular about 100 years ago. You could probably say the Empire State Building was built with them.

Sardine sandwiches are all the rage with me. I’m not sure that constitutes a trend, though.

I love sardine sandwiches. Mash them up with a little vinegar and black pepper then put on toast. Unfortunately, my gout does not.

I love me some sardines. Mustard packed for crackers. Tomato sauce for salads and soups. I never appreciated them until middle age.
