“”The service will help NYU Langone speed up the sign-in process, reduce wait times and alleviate administrative workloads.””
Sounds like BS to me. I would really like for someone to splain ‘how’ this would be more efficient than a standard sign-in sheet... how it would “reduce wait times” (they either have enough doctors and don’t overbook appointments.. or not).... and how it would alleviate workloads, since somebody extra would have to be tasked with checking the electronic “sign-in” process. It’s either the same workload, or more of a workload due to the ‘improved technology’.
I don’t see how it would equate to what they are claiming. But the clueless useful idiots will rush to get in on the new, hip and ‘cool’ way to check in... never realizing that this improved tech costs money and that cost will be passed on to ALL of the patients (not just the ones using palm-scnning) via their ever-expanding medical bills. Pushed as a convenience, it will just further drain wallets and lead to even more invasive ‘improvements’.
“”“That’s both a positive experience for the patient to be able to actually get in faster, and requires less work on our part having to authenticate who the patient is,” Rubin said.””
As for having to “authenticate” who a patient is... that’s what patient medical files, now computerized, are for. It ain’t rocket science.
Also, re: palm-scanning tech in retail... how does the customer know that these templates of their palms will be encrypted and safe from fraud, hacking or any other kind of mischief. There is no guarantee that I can see. And as for the long-term low-dose infrared use danger, scientists and those pushing this tech have no idea how it might cause adverse damage to the user of these palm-scanning devices. And these are probably the same folks that sold the “safe and effective” jab line. I’ll stick with the old fashioned credit card for payment, and sign-in sheets for medical appointments.
Well, they gotta sell the public on this thing (and other things)
There are some that would prefer that we remain silent on this stuff
So that the world can continue in blind ignorance of what is coming
