I receive my healthcare at a large Boston hospital. When walking from the transit station to my the hospital I cut through two other large hospitals that are in the same complex...one of them being a large hospital specializing in cancer care. For some time now they've had a mandatory mask policy...staff,patients and visitors.

That makes sense because many cancer patients receive radiation and/or chemo...both of which can weaken a patient's immune system.

Other than that I see some people...not many...with masks on Boston's subway system and that's it.

A few, there was a huge spike in illness about a month.
For some reason I get the impression the mask wearers now are people who are sick theirselves and are wearing so lessen chances of spreading to others.

Here in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara County, CA) the number has dropped dramatically the past couple months. It’s probably 2% of the population now. outdoors or shopping indoors. The County Health Director is an insane woman with no common sense and requires masks on everybody in a health care facility (docs, nurses, staff, patients) to wear them. I refused at my clinic about 4 or 6 weeks ago and they called the director of the entire facility to give me a talking-to: “Mask up or you don’t see the doc.”

Couple days ago I went to the clinic’s Redwood City facility about ten miles op the road. It’s in San Mateo County. There’s no insane mask mandate in that county. I think about one-third of the people in the facility were masked up (including the doc I saw).

I see a few mostly older folks but a few younger ones as well. I wear one when I mow (20 acres) and I will wear one in a few moments when I take my daily walk on the road in front of my house. The county maintenance crew just bush-hogged the right of way so the dust is heavy. I don’t wear one when I visit the doctors’ offices but most of the doc staff are not wearing them either except in certain departments.

the ones that really chap me, are the ones who, along with their little mask, over exaggeratingly, jump out of your way when you are walking by.

I had a guy do that to me in the grocery store back in March of 2020. We were walking towards each other and he hopped sideways when we were still over 20 feet away from each other!
