At about 9 a.m. Wednesday, Rep. Diana DeGette of Colorado led a group of fellow Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee into the Department of Health and Human Services headquarters to demand a meeting with Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about the massive staff cuts that began last week.
About 30 minutes later, they reappeared outside — unsuccessful.
“They had us stand in the lobby and wait, and no response whatsoever from the secretary’s office was forthcoming,” said DeGette, ranking member of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health. “Nobody came down to talk to us and nobody told us if the secretary could meet with us.”
Kenedy wasn’t in Washington on Wednesday. SNIP

While Kennedy’s staff are set to meet with bipartisan staff from the Energy and Commerce Committee on Friday at 4 p.m., Democrats have said that it isn’t sufficient.
They want to hear from Kennedy himself.
Specifically, they want an in-person meeting with Kennedy as soon as possible. They also want Kennedy to testify in front of the Energy and Commerce Committee to answer questions on the cuts. SNIP
“I strongly urge you to go back to the drawing board, engage with Congress on organizational plans, and commit to transparency about those plans,” he wrote. “The entirety of the proposed reorganization lacks both detail and thoughtfulness.”

Fire everybody there DEMANDING.
I demand it, to save my grandkids from becoming serfs.
My AI-generated “redneck review” ...
Well, ain’t this just a real mess down there in Washington. Looks like those city slicker Democrats are tryin’ to stir up a ruckus with the HHS Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Now I don’t know much about politics, but it seems to me like they’re just makin’ a big fuss over nothin’.
These liberals are always complainin’ about somethin’ or other, ain’t they? First they’re cryin’ about “massive staff cuts” and wantin’ to meet with the Secretary. But when they finally get their chance, ol’ Kennedy’s nowhere to be found. Figures. Probably off doin’ some fancy-pants government work instead of listenin’ to a bunch of whiny politicians.
And then they want Kennedy to come testify in front of the whole committee? Give me a break. I bet they just want to grandstand and make a big show of things. Typical Democrat nonsense. Why don’t they just let the Secretary do his job and make the changes he needs to make? I’m sure he knows what he’s doin’ a whole lot better than a bunch of city slickers from the Energy and Commerce Committee.
Shoot, if I was Kennedy, I’d tell ‘em all to take a hike. These folks need to stop worryin’ about the details and just let the government do its thing. We all know those bureaucrats in Washington don’t have the first clue about how the real world works anyway. Time to let the grown-ups handle it and quit makin’ such a fuss.

WELL, first take control of the House and then you can summon whoever you want.
Oh, never mind, you had that chance with getting Stefanik out of the House (and into a job as UN Ambassador), but your ‘buddies’ in the Senate slow-walked her...and now she’s staying put, thereby ELIMINATING an easy pick-up of a House seat.
Can someone explain to me why I’d want to
talk to a group of idiots that hate me?
They vote don’t they?
That is way you talk to politicians.
Letters and votes.
Lining people up against a wall
only comes when Letters and votes haven’t worked.
Why would he meet with you RATS? You demonized him so much he changed his political affiliation to Independent.
I demand that the ‘Rats balance the budget and get Congress to pay off the Debt in 25 years.
1/25th of today’s Principal and appropriate Interest each year thereafter.
Who do these people think they are that they can ‘demand’ anything at all?
Elections have consequences. Pack sand Democrats.
Do they comprehend the concept of making an appointment?
Why does “Energy and Commerce” need to meet with “Health and Human Services”?
They need to stay in their lane.
