His move comes after initially ruling out a run for Senate before signaling more openness to it. As a former governor who enjoyed a strong approval rating and comfortable reelection victories, Sununu was seen as among the best candidates that Republicans could put up to try to succeed the retiring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.).

Sununu would have just been another Romney, McConnell, Collins or Murkowski. No loss.
Bad news. I’m guessing his wife isn’t up for it. But he’s still young and it’s unfortunate.
Scott Brown, who’s fickle as fudge, says he may run. (E.g., went after Trump for J6) Karoline Leavitt needs more seasoning, and I’m not sure who else they have who would be competitive.
Unfortunate. He would have won.

Scott Brown? He’s way too pro-establishment. Trump’s team should be looking for better.
Agree
It’s butts in the seats with an R next to the name people. Let Trump deal with them. I guess they don’t want to deal with Trump.
Sununu Is a GOPe, sellout creep.
Yup. Trump’s endorsement killed him, DRT. It was brilliant
He’s been a Trump supporter for a while now...
**I’m guessing his wife isn’t up for it.**
Could be. The lefties are getting violent. That means their tactics are working.
Sununu had MAGA patriots arrested during a public meeting and charged. He is a GOPe creep and in a just world he would be chucked out of the party.
But he flirted with it before his third term as guv, so I think it really appeals to him. He had also for a moment talked about running for president in 2024.
Maybe so, but still 30% is better than )5 with a democrat.
I thought he got his Nepo job because of daddy - and have not been impressed either - - but he seems to be coming around recently. We need every seat we can get... Trump needs every seat we can get. As long as our team has the majority I don’t care who keeps us in that spot. Dems will take Trump down if we wind up in the minority again.
I would disagree since we have seen those not support on key issues. Might as well have the enemy because at least we know who they are at all times.
He lived down the road from me and I went to one of his house parties when he was running in MA. He’s very nice, but doesn’t light the room.
Yeah, but he likes being liked so has tilted a bit MAGA of late. Would be our best bet for sure.
I met his dad when he was gearing up for his first campaign. (I was just a kid.) I guess we can’t really blame Chris for Souter.
