Well, this is interesting. Cleveland Clinic decided to track 53,000 employees to see if the flu vaccine prevented them from getting the flu and, well...

It’s not published yet.
MedRxiv is a preprint server. But if you want to read real papers about what is not a new phenomenon, google “flu vaccine 2015”, there’s lots of information there.
Thats untrue which is part of the history of this conversation.
They have missed a number of years, meaning none of the population is actually vaccinated, and in those years the numbers of people getting sick from the flu were really no different than the years when they guessed correctly.
Im actually somewhat surprised by the forum today. In years past we would have had some pharma rep or FRoctor here misdirecting people by picking fights claiming that someone said there was a live virus in the vaccine.
My experience (and that of many colleagues is different, if not opposite yours) we consistently came down with influenza after receiving flu shots…until we learned to be “allergic to chicken feathers and eggs” thus allowing us to bypass the annual shots.
After that, influenza was periodic with large gaps between episodes for all of us.
That experience supported my decision to forgo the experimental Covid injections and I have remained free of any Covid symptoms.
There’s a Dilbert cartoon about that, as I recall. It’s a flu shot, not a flu prevention shot.
One of my sisters got the flu vaccine earlier this year, as did her husband and two children. Within two weeks, all four were sick with the flu.
Neither I nor my other sisters have gotten a flu vaccine and none have been sick.
Conclusion: You’re more likely to get the flu if you get the flu vaccine.
That’s my study and it didn’t take a million dollars to complete.
What a surprise.
I didn’t get the flu this year, but I sure as hell got something that was worse than the flu. I live in a pretty large town and everyone was getting it. It was what I would call the worst damn cold I ever had in my life. Wife caught it too.
The only time I ever got the flu was the only year that I got the vax for it. When I saw my doctor, he said, *well, it’s a crap shoot which strain it is, every year. They did their best to figure which strain would be prevalent, and they figured wrong.* I never got another flu shot after that.
Oh, and I had a rotten case of opportunistic strep throat immediately following my flu event. It was worse than the flu.
I’ve never had a flu shot and the last time I had the flu was 20+ years ago...probably closer to 30.
Even a simple cold is rare for me.
I used to get the flu vaccine fairly regularly but have skipped the last few years. After about 25 years without the flu, last February I ended up with the flu and strep throat. Made for a miserable few weeks.
I have never gotten a flu shot because I knew it was a scam. I’ve seen people at work get one and get sick anyway.
Bring back Covid. Proven to squelch the flu.
Many years ago, I learned from my very intelligent and experienced Nurse Practitioner sister that this year's flu vaccine is made from last year's flu virus, that takes almost a year to create. Therefore it has little or no effect on this year's never-before-seen strain of virus, only possibly a (unlikely) recurrence of long-gone old ones.
This just confirmed my standing decision not to allow medics to inoculate me with yet another infectious crap that continues to alter/debilitate my immune system that was designed by God to adapt naturally to the changing environment.
So I have never permitted inoculation of this product into my body, and 9anecdotally) have never gotten 'the flu" or the symptoms of it.
Double down on that regarding the unproven experimental COVID-19 immune-damaging substances misrepresented as "vaccines" according to the definition of that descriptive term.
That is not to say that I am against the proven one-time polio vaccines, or the ancient but effective small-pox vaccines, or pneumovax and others that effectively deal with bacterial infections.
Every year I’ve gotten the flu shot (in the military), I’ve gotten sick for a week or two shortly after. The two years I ‘got’ the nasal spray, and the one year I accidentally went straight to the exit line, I didn’t get sick.
Luckily I had a pretty bad reaction to the shot several years ago (massive headache, rash/hives over upper body), so our med Sgt was able to put in a permanent medical exemption to flu shots for me!
What’s also missing from the historical conversation is how few actual flu cases there are. Historically, something like 80-90% of “flu” was a symptomatic diagnosis, not a positive test. So it could have easily been one of dozens of similar viri/infections, not specifically influenza. I have a bunch of details years back in my posting history
