I loved white Jake, and one time, no kidding, I was in a similar situation. Hubby was up on the phone talking with someone before the sun was up. When I came down the stairs, I asked, “who are you talking with?” , thinking we had some emergency overnight that I had slept through. He quickly answered, “Jake, from State Farm.” Same deadpan. I roared, and returned with, “what’s he wearing?” - “Khakis”.
It was his old boss calling who was calling from another country. They were just trying to catch up.
We still laugh about that.
