I like self-checkout because I can confirm the prices of these items I am purchasing. Most regular checkout stations these days do not have a display for you to confirm what was charged for each item. There have been numerous times I have caught the registers charging the wrong price on an item.

Our closest Costco will no longer let customers use the self-checkout lanes themselves. Costco employees are now always ringing up your items. They spent all of that money, along with the removal of regular checkout lines, to install self-checkout lanes during COVID. I guess they figured out people were stealing, but now they have several employees manning self-checkout. Despite that, I have caught Costco employees scanning my items incorrectly in the "self-checkout" lanes. What a mess.
