A fundraiser for the Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf and leaving him to die in his twin brother’s arms has raked in over $60,000 as of Sunday — as the teen maintains he acted in self-defense.
The GiveSendGo campaign was purportedly set up by the family of Karmelo Anthony, 17, who cops say confessed to the horrific stabbing at a track meet in Frisco, Texas, last Wednesday.
The page claimed that the “narrative being spread is false, unjust, and harmful.”
“As a family of faith, we are deeply grateful for all of your support during this trying period. Your prayers and assistance mean more to us now more than ever,” according to the fundraiser.
The company, which also hosted a fundraiser that brought in hundreds of thousands for Daniel Penny’s legal defense after he was charged in the NYC subway chokehold death, did not immediately respond to a request for comment to confirm the authenticity of the campaign.
The fundraiser had raked in over $60,000 in donations from 1,600 donors as of Sunday morning.

Who doesn’t stab someone who dissed you? Duh...
In most states aren’t you allowed to use deadly force to stop a disser? I would never think of leaving the house without my gun because you just never know when someone is going to diss you.
You can take the black out of the Jungle but you can’t take the Jungle out of the .......
Self-hating Whites is what you mean...
So Anthony unzipping his bag, reaching inside the bag, while telling Metcalf, "Touch me and see what happens” wasn't threatening or aggressive? Anthony was in a place he wasn't supposed to be, and was told to leave. He didn't, and escalated the situation because he refused to comply with a simple request. The fact that he had a knife with him, and chose to use it to stab someone who didn't have a weapon, instead of simply leaving when asked, tells me that Anthony was the invader, the aggressor, and the murderer.
You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. You can make lame excuses for someone who stabbed another student to death, when he wasn't even supposed to be there, and chose to stay and escalate the situation, but he's still the aggressor and the murderer. Anthony had the option to leave, and not let the situation get out of hand. He chose not to, brought a weapon to the show, and holds full responsibility for what happened next.
I used to carry one of those with me all the time, too. In my purse. I’ve had so many taken away from me by TSA, that I’ve stopped carrying one altogether.
Sorry I wasn’t clear about that. The highly praised assailant had a 3.7, not a 4.0 GPA.
Same here. It really got to be a PITA being persecuted against for being accused of doing something “somebody” (Ilhand Omar lingo) did.
. . . And was carrying a knife to a daytime track meet at another school. In other words he was looking for trouble.
If it’s any consolation, that $60K won’t go very far...
preachin’ to the choir man... If I said want I truly felt I’d be banned...
was Karmelo wearing work boots?
I heard that go fund me has taken it down now.
I never said he did.
I assumed nothing.
$1 MILLION BOND.
but yet everyone on this site cries about PP clinics in the ghetto, and hate Margaret Sanger who spoke.the truth. Yes I know, a ghetto kid is gonna be the one to cure cancer and bring about world peace.
I for one do not care. Flame away.
SKIPPED SCHOOL TO BE THERE===
PREMEDITATION, IMO.
killer rakes in $60,000 as he claims self-defense.
Didn’t know democrats could use their EBT cards at a ATM.
They feel entitled to everything....not from me.
A long long time ago, I was going by airplane to visit my boyfriend (now hubby) and his family for Christmas. He had recently moved into an apartment and was beginning to live on his own. I bought him a nice couple of knives that were in a gift set. Wrapped it up and brought it on the airplane with me in my carry on. (I don’t think I had checked a bag.)
I remember telling the flight attendant that I had them, and if she wanted to hold them in a safe place, that was fine with me. They were wrapped in Christmas wrapping already. She said no, they would be fine with me. Mind you, one was a 4” paring knife, and the other was about 9” long, a chef’s type knife. This was in the mid 80’s. These days, they would’ve taken those from me, and I’d have been arrested probably. Times sure have changed.
Oh, and in those days, you could meet people at the gates.
In Texas...Boy confessed, but he's going to fit Sudden Passion, even though packing the knife was pre-meditated, as possibly was the setup.
- Without Sudden Passion: Murder is a first-degree felony, punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison.
- With Sudden Passion: Murder is reduced to a second-degree felony, with a punishment range of 2 to 20 years in prison.
Still could get the top end of Felony Murder 2 and the hard 20. Karamelo would have to do 10 before becoming parole-eligible, but at least he would have no shot at shock probation.
If a DA did thread the needle and get him on Murder 1 and prove pre-meditation, that DA might be the next Texas AG.
If they try to spin this into another Trayvannedoff or Big Gorge for tv and another try at a color revolution, it will end badly.
