A fundraiser for the Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf and leaving him to die in his twin brother’s arms has raked in over $60,000 as of Sunday — as the teen maintains he acted in self-defense.
The GiveSendGo campaign was purportedly set up by the family of Karmelo Anthony, 17, who cops say confessed to the horrific stabbing at a track meet in Frisco, Texas, last Wednesday.
The page claimed that the “narrative being spread is false, unjust, and harmful.”
“As a family of faith, we are deeply grateful for all of your support during this trying period. Your prayers and assistance mean more to us now more than ever,” according to the fundraiser.
The company, which also hosted a fundraiser that brought in hundreds of thousands for Daniel Penny’s legal defense after he was charged in the NYC subway chokehold death, did not immediately respond to a request for comment to confirm the authenticity of the campaign.
The fundraiser had raked in over $60,000 in donations from 1,600 donors as of Sunday morning.

You really need to be armed when attending track meets. One of the runners could easily start attacking spectators with a relay baton.
The assailant was the one who brought HIS KNIFE to the track meet. Not the murdered 4.0 student-athlete.
The assailant was the one who twice broke into the other team’s tent at the track meet.
The Stupid Virus is running amok in the US. Batten down the hatches.
(whites are screaming louder in defense of blacks than blacks do!!)
That’s due to the public propaganda education indoctrinariums they’ve been taught in. All White’s should be taught racial awareness starting in kindergarten.
Race card? No, license to kill.
There’s a big high academic football camp at Wesleyan today. My son is there. The boys said a prayer for Austin and his family. I get the feeling Austin was supposed to be there today.
The stabber had a 3.7, and no criminal record of any kind either. The murdered kid grabbed him, started throwing his things, smashed his phone. Murdered kid had a local reputation as a bully and was not a competitor at the track meet.
It’s too bad he lost his life and the other kid shouldn’t have stabbed him and now is going to pay a price. But Austin decided to be the enforcer of the tent all on his own. He could have got an adult or whoever.
Plenty even here don’t understand this is what’s at stake
Austin, the victim, was a 4.0 student. Not sure about Anthony. I do know he was carrying a knife and was skipping school to be at the meet. There is also speculation he was there to boost back packs. No lockets, so kids put everything into their packs. Wallets, money, credit cards, phones, air pods, head phones, jewelry, laptops, and clothes. Target rich environment for a thief.
No, the murder victim stabbee was 4.0, the stabber was 3.7 GPA.
They were both good students.
This case will not be as cut and dry as initially expected. The accused's lawyers will fight hard for a self-defense claim and argue that once Metcalf put hands on him, even if it was to enforce the social norms expected in a high trust society, it became self defense.
I don't see it this way at all. Hopefully a jury doesn't either but it's the wealthy 'burbs of Dallas so who knows.
Another report I read said the murderer was going through the backpacks in the tent, stealing things.
No. That was from the victim’s side saying they worried he might be planning to do that. No one has said he did, no property was found on him, and he has no record of thievery or anything else.
But they did go through his bag and smash his phone.
And do you realize how stupid that sounds? To go riot and burn down the black side of town, burn down the home of innocent people who had nothing to do with it.
Utterly retarded.
He wasn't supposed to be there, and chose to ignore the request to leave, which tells me he is the aggressor because he didn't comply with the request. This article says that a witness stated that "Anthony unzipped a bag, reached inside and told Metcalf, 'Touch me and see what happens.'” Now if that isn't aggression, I don't know what is. And I'm sure there are plenty of other witnesses that were under that tent, that will testify to seeing the same thing. The family also claims they're religious. Ha! You might be, but your kid sure ain't.
Cops said he attended different school..wasn’t supposed to be there.he was skipping school. Going tent to tent stealing people’s things. He pulled the knife from the bag
Few understand. Fewer understand how far down the slippery slope we have already gone.
Oh yeah, the vile media have been pushing the “self-defense” narrative hard. They’re also smearing the deceased’s reputation as well as that of his grieving brother.
There is no low to which they will not go.
I still can’t take my two inch pen knife anywhere. I always did until that thing we used to call 9/11. Sure is a pain in the keister. They really come in handy. Can’t carry one anymore all because of the Muzzie terrorists. The country is full of them these days so I can understand why TSA should be suspicious of me, a lowly American and grab my knife.
” and chose to ignore the request to leave, which tells me he is the aggressor because he didn’t comply with the request.”
No, that simply means he said no to another high school student. At that point Metcalf decided to go hands on. Metcalf was the aggressor. When told no, he shoulda got the coach or security.
Two idiots collided.
